GlobeMed at Columbia is accepting applications for Spring 2015!

GlobeMed is a national, student-run nonprofit founded on the belief that the world should and can be different. We believe the most effective way to advance global health equity is to partner with grassroots organizations that already work in and understand their communities. Columbia's GlobeMed chapter works closely with a grassroots nonprofit in Gulu, Uganda to design and implement a HIV/AIDS and maternal health project each year. During the school year we collaborate, fundraise and raise awareness about global health issues, and in the summer five of our members intern in Gulu to evaluate and improve our project. Over 50 different chapters across the countries do the same, each partnered with a different non-profit. GlobeMed provides incredible leadership opportunities and practical experience for anyone interested in global health, social justice, nonprofits, human rights, healthcare, development work, marketing and design, communications, business and event management.

We will be holding two information sessions: Monday 1/26 and Wednesday 1/28 from 7-8 pm, location TBA (will be updated on facebook event).  We strongly encourage you to attend an info session to learn more about our work and see if GlobeMed is a good fit for you. If you cannot attend an info session, please feel free to reach out to us (columbia@globemed.org) for more information!  Applications for Spring 2015 can be found here and are due Thursday 1/29, 11:59PM EST.
