Project Updates

Heron Creek Restroom

The steelwork is mostly complete on the Heron Creek Restrooms thanks to Sarabi Studio! The project is nearing completion and TTF will be celebrating the First Flush soon.

Eastside Pedestrian Bridge

The new Trail bridge over the intermittent creek just east of the hostel is in! In case you missed it, check out our video showing the delivery and installation. It won't be long until the Trail is realigned and we all get to experience a new view of the lake from the bridge.

Auditorium Shores

Thanks to our generous supporters, TTF was able to donate $350,000 toward the Auditorium Shores trailhead in order to help provide more of what the Trail deserves - new, well designed restrooms, water fountains, filtering of stormwater before it enters Lady Bird Lake, and more!

Healthy Trees for the Trail

Thanks to the 21 volunteers from Able, Austin Spartans, Americorps Vista, and Austin Outdoor Social, we were able to plant 500 saplings - pecan, cedar elm, chinkapin oak, bald cypress, burr oak, beautyberry, red buckeye, Texas redbud, mexican plum, anacacho orchid - along Lakeshore Blvd as part of our Healthy Trees for the Trail program on Saturday, January 17. A special shout out to Able - they were our first Business Cypress Circle Member to take advantage of our 'Day in the Trail Dirt'!

Members Matter!

Thank you to all our year-end donors and members! With your help, TTF will begin construction on the Lakeshore Park Rain Meadow, a park that will improve the quality of storm water before it gets to Lady Bird Lake with beautiful rain gardens as well as provide informal picnicking space, play areas, and stretching equipment for the area east of the Boardwalk. TTF will continue the planning and design phase of a new Trail bridge that will replace the narrow, rickety, wooden bridge under Congress Avenue. We will also embark on a five-year, Trailwide ecological restoration and conservation project. This work is critical to the health of the Trail, protecting the ecosystem and wildlife habitats for future generations.
New TTF/Luke's Shirts are Here!

Each year Luke’s Locker designs custom TTF shirts and all proceeds are donated back to the Trail. On December 3, Luke’s Locker presented a check for $20,000 to TTF. Thanks to Luke’s Locker, $75,000 has been donated over the years to enhance our beloved Trail. Be sure to swing by Luke’s Locker to check out the two new designs for 2015.
