New Releases

Gov't Mule feat. John Scofield- Sco-Mule 2CDs / 2LPs In late September of 1999, John Scofield teamed with Gov’t Mule, then featuring original bass player the late Allen Woody, along with keyboardist Dr. Dan Matrazzo, in Georgia for two legendary shows of mind-bending live prowess, featuring material ranging from Mule and Scofield original compositions, to James Brown covers and songs made legendary by John Coltrane and Wayne Shorter. No audience or soundboard bootleg recordings of these shows exist. But now, for the first time, fans can experience the Sco-Mule mystique first- hand in album form, newly mixed and mastered. This 2.5 hour all-instrumental release is a jazz romp laced with rock, soul & funk, and will be available as a 2-CD set, as well as a 180-gram double vinyl set (with a download code for the digital files).

Tim Reynolds & TR3 - Like Some Kind of Alien Invasion 2LPs TR3, the versatile electric power trio, consisting of DMB guitar slinger and collaborator Tim Reynolds, bassist Mick Vaughn, and drummer Dan Martier, has long been known for bending genres and ripping through tunes every musical style, from blues, funk, progressive, psychedelic, jazz fusion, metal, and classic rock, with each song seemingly building off the one before it.  Two years in the making, Like Some Kind of Alien Invasion, their first major label album release, features 14 new original songs by Reynolds and further solidifies TR3 as a consistent rock band with wide-ranging influences.

Coming Soon

Quicksilver Messenger Service - Winterland November 1968 CD - This show was broadcast live from Winterland in the closing months of  1968. QSM were headlining with the Grateful Dead as support. Quicksilver and Grateful Dead were great friends at the time and musically pushed each other to provide electrically charged performances whenever they played together, and by the time of this gig, John Cipollina had perfected his very unique guitar style which is clearly evident on this recording. The line-up of the band on this autumnal San Francisco evening close to 50 years ago, was John Cipollina on lead guitar and backing vocals, Gary Duncan on guitar and vocals, David Freiberg on bass and vocals and Greg Elmore on drums.

Last Week

Rich Robinson - Woodstock Sessions Vol. 3 CD - 2015 release, the latest in the Woodstock Sessions series. This set spotlights ex-Black Crowes guitarist/songwriter Rich Robinson in a live performance with his band. The album features extended version of some of Robinson's greatest hits, selections from 2014's CEASELESS SIGHT LP and some electric covers. A must-have for Crowes fans, lovers of Americana, thoughtful songwriting, and guitar freaks everywhere.
