Chalice Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)
During the month of February, we'll be collecting new, warm pajamas for The Pajama Project.  Each year we have supported this heartwarming project, which provides pajamas to children at risk in the Foster Care system and children in group homes. Often when a child is removed from the home to enter the system, they do so without clothes.  A warm pair of pajamas can be of great comfort to them. We will collect children’s pajamas, all sizes, each Sunday during February.  
 

Bring your change this Sunday for the Pastor's Fund. The gray buckets will be waiting!


Also, get ready for Peanut Butter Sunday, officially the 3rd Sunday of each month. Why peanut butter? It's one of the items most needed by food pantries. It makes for a quick, kid-friendly, easily stored and transported, high protein meal. Ours will go to Chandler Christian Community Center. 
Prayer requests and updates are now being sent out through MailChimp as well, using the same address as before (prayers.chalice@gmail.com). Mail sent to that address will still be read. We recently updated the distribution list, so if you're not receiving updates (or don't know if you are), let the church office know. 
 
Regional Youth Retreats are February 21-22 at Tucson churches. Kids in grades 6 through 12 are eligible to go. If you're planning on going, let Rev. Abigail know now!

A Few Notes
  • We will be hosting IHELP on Saturday, February 7 at 5:00 pm.  This is our opportunity to serve a meal to the homeless who will be our guests overnight.  If you would like to help provide or serve food for our guests, please speak to Kathy Corner.
  • Rev. Denny Williams, our Regional Minister, will be with us on February 8 as we officially install Rev. Abigail as our pastor. Plan to stay after worship for food. Yum!
  • East Valley Youth will be meeting on Sunday, Feb. 8 at Community Christian Church in Tempe.  Kids in grades 6-12 welcome!
