A Wealth of Wisdom From Proverbs
or, Life Lessons from the Ant

We have been enjoying the Wisdom of Proverbs for some time now, and here are eight sermons to catch you up on our latest series.

Wisdom is God's law practically applied. It shows us how to live, but more importantly, it reveals our sin. It teaches us the importance of "The Fear of the Lord" -- i.e., faith -- as the beginning of all wisdom and blessedness in a fallen world.

Probably the hardest part about reading in Proverbs is fighting the temptation to always apply a particularly sharp proverb to someone else: "Ah, so true, that reminds me of my obnoxious boss." God's law is most effective when it is first applied to us, mercilessly, so it can drive us to Christ, and then show us the way of gratitude.

Enjoy. The first four sermons in the series introduce broad themes in Proverbs set forth in the first 9 chapters of the book, which are introductory. The next four sermon look to Christ and particular areas where wisdom is needed. And, the series continues... so if there are any topics you would like to see us cover, drop us a line.
