MEETING SPOT:  meet between 9:40 and 10 am at Lowe’s Home Improvement parking lot near the Shallotte Exit (Route 130) off of US 17 North. From Hwy. 17, exit to the right, curve around until you meet Route 130. Go left towards Shallotte. In about 200 yards, take another left into the Lowes parking lot. MASTER PLAN:  After leaving the Lowe’s parking lot, we will travel US 17 North for approximately 110 miles or 2.5 hours to our hotel in downtown New Bern. We will make a brief pit stop at a McDonalds on the far side of Hampstead  which should be about 75 miles from New Bern. The hotel is on the River Front approximately 2 blocks from the main shopping  district  and eating establishments. Other attractions are very short driving distances away which can be viewed on the New Bern web site listed below. Everyone can do their own excursions during the afternoon and we will make dinner reservations for Saturday night at Morgan’s Tavern and Grill once we get a head count. The hotel has a very nice breakfast buffet for around $10 or you can visit other local restaurants. Hotel checkout is 11 am Sunday.

ACCOMMODATIONS: If you plan on staying overnight, 15 rooms (King / 2 Doubles) have been reserved for Saturday night at the DoubleTree River Front by Hilton next to the Marina, walking distance to the main downtown area. The Miata Club rate is $129 for Saturday night only, however, upgrades for suites or river front rooms are available.

Reservations must be made by each couple or individual - Call in before 2/7/15; Reservations must be accompanied by room deposit or guaranteed by major credit card. Individual Rooms Cancellation is 72 hours  prior to arrival to avoid any charges. Rooms or rates may be available after 2/7/15 but are not guaranteed.
