Review of Back to School Night:
A big thank you to all who were able to attend our Back-to-school night 2.0. For those of you unable to attend, here is a link to the presentation for the evening.
I’ve also included a link to the presentation given to students last Tuesday. This one focuses more on school expectations.
We have also compiled a glossary to help people better understand some of the words and phrases that are unique to d.tech. We really are reinventing the high school experience and understand that it can be confusing, so we will continue to take steps to help parents better understand our school.
Teacher Settings:
We understand the desire to have a quick conversation with a teacher in the morning after dropping off your child, but we setting our teachers on “do not disturb” mode starting at 8:15 each day. Teachers need this time to prepare for their classes for the day. If you wish to meet with a teacher, please email for an appointment.
SMUHSD d.tech study session.
On January 27th at the Hillsdale High School theater, located at 3115 Del Monte Street, San Mateo, the San Mateo Union High School District school board will provide a list of possible locations for our school for next year. The school board has been very supportive of our success, and we encourage d.tech families to attend and speak. We also expect d.tech families to represent our school in a positive manner. I will offer some brief comments acknowledging the complexity of the process and thanking the board for working on this issue over the past year.
In the second week of February, we will hold a town hall meeting for current and prospective parents to solicit feedback on the proposed locations.
