Progress on the vision for Complete Streets in Houston

The City of Houston Public Works and Engineering Department and Planning and Development Department have been working on realizing the goals of Mayor Annise Parker's Complete Streets Executive Order for a little over a year. Substantial changes to design and process have already begun that will significantly improve the ability of your grandchildren to walk, bike, and drive safely and comfortably in the City of Houston. Over the coming year, we will see more of what it will mean for the City of Houston to adopt a Complete Streets philosophy and what opportunities arise for communities and elected officials to realize the goals of safe streets.
