Join the 2015 Earth Week Planning Committee

The Student Environmental Resource Center is starting to organize planning efforts for Earth Week 2015!

Please sign up on this form if you are interested in helping to plan the week's events and activities.

Meetings will be held weekly on Tuesdays from 12pm-1pm in Hearst Gym 102. Drop-ins are welcome and it is okay if you cannot make every meeting! Those who sign-up will be added to the Earth Week 2015 Planning Committee communication list. The first meeting will be Tuesday, January 27th at 12pm.

Last's year Earth Week was successful because of UC Berkeley's student efforts. Let's keep that spirit alive for 2015!

Volunteer to do Traffic Counts around Berkeley High School

The Transportation Working Group of the Berkeley Climate Action Coalition is working on strategies for encouraging safe, sustainable, shared and active transit to Berkeley High School, and we hope to do a traffic count to document existing conditions/current modes of transit. People interested in traffic calming around Berkeley High and downtown Berkeley area, and/or in transportation issues in general are especially encouraged to volunteer! We will supply instructions and paper checklist for volunteers to record counts of car drop offs and bicycle traffic around the perimeter of BHS. Coffee and pastries will be available.

The requested volunteer time is 7:50 am until 8:40 am.The dates selected for counts are: Feb 10, Feb 11, Feb. 18, Feb 26 and a make-up date of Mar 3 if one of the other dates needs to be cancelled. Volunteers who can commit to all of those dates are preferred, but if you can commit to at least 2 dates, please follow up! Anyone who is able to volunteer should contact Marjorie Alvord at malvord@mindspring.com.
