Volunteer to do Traffic Counts around Berkeley High School
The Transportation Working Group of the Berkeley Climate Action Coalition is working on strategies for encouraging safe, sustainable, shared and active transit to Berkeley High School, and we hope to do a traffic count to document existing conditions/current modes of transit. People interested in traffic calming around Berkeley High and downtown Berkeley area, and/or in transportation issues in general are especially encouraged to volunteer! We will supply instructions and paper checklist for volunteers to record counts of car drop offs and bicycle traffic around the perimeter of BHS. Coffee and pastries will be available.
The requested volunteer time is 7:50 am until 8:40 am.The dates selected for counts are: Feb 10, Feb 11, Feb. 18, Feb 26 and a make-up date of Mar 3 if one of the other dates needs to be cancelled. Volunteers who can commit to all of those dates are preferred, but if you can commit to at least 2 dates, please follow up! Anyone who is able to volunteer should contact Marjorie Alvord at malvord@mindspring.com.
