Register for the Worksite Wellness Workshop today
02/11/15 LICKING COUNTY, OHIO – The Licking County Health Department and the Licking County Wellness Coalition are hosting their annual Worksite Wellness Workshop March 6 at the Mount Vernon Nazarene University, 1350 Granville Road, Newark, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. The workshop is designed to encourage participants to create or enhance a worksite wellness program for their employees.

Local businesses and organizations are encouraged to send a representative to the workshop to learn about wellness programs and take the information back to the workplace. The presentations and activity breaks are tailored to workplace wellness, and will leave attendees feeling ready to start their own wellness programs.

“Many organizations don’t realize wellness programs can be implemented on a limited budget and still positively impact their employees’ health and the organization’s bottom line,” said Joe Ebel, Licking County Health Commissioner.

The workshop is open to the public, but intended for human resource personnel, worksite wellness coordinators, school wellness personnel, worksite wellness team members, and other employees interested in improving the health of their worksite.

This year’s workshop will include topics such as incorporating healthy foods at the worksite, local awards and grant opportunities, and a panel discussion about incentivizing employee wellness programs. There will also be two activity sessions this year. Attendees are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes and shoes in order to participate.

Lunch will be provided to all attendees and they will receive a free item for attending. Additionally, there will be raffle prizes.

Registration cost is $20.00 per person, and the deadline to register is noon, March 2. To register, visit the Public Health Partnership of Licking County website, at www.phplc.org.

“The Licking County Health Department serves more than 160,000 citizens in the Licking County General Health District by preventing disease, protecting the environment and promoting healthy lifestyles with a vision of healthy people living in healthy communities.”
