Get Ready to Read! Kids' Read-a-thon Kicks Off
Help us Make More Noyes by participating in the "Raise a Ruckus Read-a-thon!" Children of all ages will help launch the campaign to renovate Noyes Library with a reading program. The spring read-a-thon's finale on April 25, 2015, at Kensington Town Hall, will celebrate participants. All pre-readers, early readers, and advanced readers are invited to sign up and collect pledges for donations to Noyes for pages they read. More information will be available at Noyes and on the foundation website.

Meet the New Noyes Librarian
With more than five years of experience as a children’s librarian, Lauren Martino joined Noyes in September 2014. She is learning to play the ukulele and has a one-year-old daughter. A children’s book she’s loving now? A Sick Day for Amos McGee. Susan Modak switched from Noyes to nearby Kensington Park Library.

Noyes Buckaroos Saddle Up
Three generations learned to do-si-do at the Noyes Family Hoedown at Kensington Town Hall on Sept. 27, 2014. The western-themed event featured square and line dancing. Kids created sheriff's vests and cowboy hats, played corn hole and pin the tail on the donkey, bobbed for apples, listened to a story, and enjoyed seasonal snacks.

Model Trains Draw Crowds
More than 2,000 people attended All Aboard Kensington, a benefit for the Noyes Foundation and the Kensington Historical Society, in September 2014. Town Hall was filled with tracks, miniature towns, and model trains. A special thanks to sponsors Gary and Diana Ditto, the Town of Kensington, and the National Capital Trackers.

ALS Ice Bucket Challenge Hits Home at Noyes Library
Supporters came out to take the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge on Aug. 23, 2014, in Kensington to celebrate Jan Jablonski, who has continued to work as co-president of the Noyes Children's Library Foundation while coping with advancing ALS. Read more.

The Noyes Children’s Library Foundation launched the Make MORE Noyes Campaign to fund a major renovation of the 121-year-old library, making it accessible to those with physical disabilities for the first time in history.
