Here's what's happening this month at Gloucester Rd WI.

Bollywood dancer.Imagine you are in a Bollywood film!

This month's meeting is a Bolllywood workshop from Penny from Movema

It will be an active 1 hour session with a fun mix of traditional Indian dance and modern commercial dance styles, characterised by hand gestures and rhythmical movements, so make sure you wear comfy clothes (sari optional!) and don't eat too many pancakes beforehand! (the 17th is also pancake day).

We're moving back to our roots...

Bigger venue, lots of storage, nearer to the Gloucester Rd...and a bar!

If you've been along to one of our recent meetings you'll have seen that it's been a been a bit of a squeeze. You let us know you were concerned about the lack of space so we have found a new, bigger, venue. You'll be pleased to hear it has a bar (they take requests for stock), a kitchen and we'll also have our own permanent noticeboard and storage, plus wifi!

Our new venue:
St Andrew's Bowling Club,
Derby Road,
St Andrews,
Bristol
BS7 9AQ
www.bristolstandrewsbowlingclub.co.uk

We still start at 8pm but you can arrive from 7.30pm. You can also get a drink and have a mingle beforehand and after the meeting as the bar will be open all evening (we are running it now!). If you're driving you can park on Derby Road or around St.Andrew's park.

WI Centenary

How will we celebrate?

We've had some amazing suggestions on our facebook page, thank you to everyone who commented. Ideas have includeplanting 100 trees100 acts of kindness, an elderly outreach event and from the knit and stitch group, 100 bunting flags created by all our members.

We'd like to follow up on these ideas so if you'd like to lead one of these projects please come and talk to the committee at the next meeting - your committee needs YOU to make it happen!

For more information on the national projects taking place check the main WI website: www.thewi.org.uk/centenary

Membership for 2015

We still have space for new members!

If you still haven't signed up for membership we do still have a few spaces available. Please bring along your payment of £36 to the meeting (cash or cheque made out to 'Gloucester Rd WI', sorry no cards) and you'll need to fill out a membership form.

New Website Project

We've started a project to create a new website – can you help out?

Do you have any experience with online projects and are willing to get involved with creating a new website? We'll need help with creating content (you don't have to be technical for that bit!), creating images and some technical bits.

If you'd like to help please get in touch with: Nic Thomas, our Online Manager at the next meeting.
