Black Creek Now Offers Nutrient-Rich, Rocky Mountain-Grown Hay
Knowing our farm customers are often concerned about hay quality, we are pleased to announce the availability of hay from the Canadian Rockies through a new distributor relationship with an island-based company, Hi-Point Hay.
The hay they are bringing to the island is from a company with a 35-year history of supplying some of the best and biggest farms in the world. The bales are compressed and wrapped.
According to their website, the fields are "strategically positioned near the eastern slopes of the Canadian Rocky Mountains, with clean air, long warm days with cool nights, and rich soil with a pristine environment in which to grow our hay and forage. Unlike crops grown in countries with longer growing seasons and milder climates, our harsh Canadian winters help us to raise our crops using more NATURAL methods. There is little to no need for pesticides and herbicides because prolonged cold weather acts as a natural pesticide and herbicide."
We have the following available: Alfalfa, First and Second-Cut Timothy, Mixed Hays (blend of orchard grass, timothy, and alfalfa).
Ask for a nutrient report if you're interested...and ask about delivery to your barn!
