6th - 19th February 2015

Hello, we hope this finds you well and not too cold.

This fortnight you'll want to get yourself down to New Art Exchange to join artists Mahtab Hussain and Sunil Shah an informal tour of their simultaneous exhibitions 'The Commonality of Strangers' and 'Uganda Stories' and to the Harley Gallery for this year's Open and its concurrent exhibition 'Silence Space Shadow'; and to Nottingham's Central Library for Marcus Clarke's 'DogHorse Coat' exhibition. Surface Gallery's International Postcard Show, Caroline Lowe's Fragments at Banks Mill and Marcus Clarke's Doghorse Coat exhibition are on for a little while longer too. If it's workshops you're looking for, how about pinhole photographycreative writing or fundraising and financial planning.

As ever, there are also some really great jobs and opportunities out there including Manager for Wirksworth Festival; Marketing Officer at LU Arts and commissions with Derby Festé and residencies at Leicester Print Workshop.

This month we're delighted to present the work of Derbyshire-based artist Anna Krystyna Casey, our latest participant in 'Meet the Artist', more of whom you can read below and on http://www.emvan.net/content/meet-artist-anna-krystyna-caseyLet us know if you'd like to take part in this feature.

As ever, we encourage you to browse all the new content on www.emvan.net, including the latest news from the sector. Read about how the petition against cuts to Derby Museums service has prompted a rethink by the Council; take a look at the plans to transform a former factory from Northampton's shoe industry into a multi-million pound arts centre; and see what you make of Judith Hills' article suggesting that institutions must cater for the reality that graduates of arts-based courses are likely to work in ‘arts in the community’plus loads more.

Please continue to send us your studio snapshots, and don't forget to keep uploading your events and opportunities too.

Our next diary will be out on 20th February so until then, Happy Valentine's Day and have a good fortnight!
