Getting Started

New Swimmers Welcome! Simply bring a swimming suit, goggles and show up to practice. You can take QUAC for a test-swim for one month at no cost and without a USMS membership. Tell the desk and the deck coach that you are new and trying out QUAC for the first time, and they will take it from there.

Water Polo

Learn how to make a skip shot! We have a water polo team! Like swimming, you don’t even have to know how to play.  All you need is a desire to come and participate.  So if you're a returning player or if it is just something you’ve always wanted to try, come join us. To find out more about QUAC's Water Polo team here

Ski-n-Swim February 20–22

 



2015 marks QUAC's 18th Ski-n-Swim which continues to be the team's biggest annual event. While the main event is the swim meet, Ski-n-Swim isn't just for swimmers, but is open to the entire community with many different events that will feature something to attract everyone.
     The weekend gets underway Friday, February 20 at 7:00PM, with the Opening Social at the Sheraton Hotel, 150 West 500 South in Salt Lake City.

     Join us for a get together with old and new friends to enjoy some great food and get fired up for a great weekend. For those registered for the meet your ticket is included just RSVP when you register. For additional tickets they are $6 per person. Buy them early as last year we sold out. The Sheraton is within walking distance to much of downtown Salt Lake including several clubs and gay bars.

     Following the Opening Social join in the after party at Club Jam beginning at 9:30PM until you can't dance any more. There will be no cover charge for those registered for Ski-n-Swim Opening Social. Elevation Utah will be holding their party there that night, so there will be lots of visitors. Jam is located at 751 North 300 West, Salt Lake City
 
Saturday Swim Meet
Hosted at the Northwest Rec Center, warm-ups start at 8:00AM, competition starts at 9:00AM. Get ready for an awesome swim meet. Registration is $12 with no on deck registration. A 2015 USMS membership is required but there is an option for a one event fee ($15). Registration will close at midnight on Thursday February 19. If you want to cheer seating in the bleachers is free! We need volunteers to help at the meet as well.

Polo Game
Following the meet at approximately 2:00PM, QUAC's water polo team will host a polo game at Steiner Aquatic Center, 645 South Guardsman Way (1580 East). Come play against local players and enjoy a rumble. There is an $18 entrance fee to play. There is no charge for the spectator gallery.

Ice Skating and Group Dinner
Get your Saturday evening started at the Gallivan Ice Rink.  Skating is even more fun with costumes, wigs, hats and accessories, so feel free to dress-up. Skating starts at 5:30PM and dinner will be served at 7:00PM. Tickets for the ice rink are $8 in advance or $10 at the door. Dinner is $26 and book early because last year the dinner sold out. You are welcome to bring a beverage to share. The Gallivan Center is located at 239 South Main Street.

     Following dinner, the Saturday after party will be at Club Try-Angles, 251 West 9th South. Enjoy great dancing and a patio area with a bar. The third Saturday of the month is underwear night, but for something possibly a little less risqué, wear your team swim suit. There is a clothing check, so you can change there. There will be no cover charge for those attending the Ski-n-Swim Opening Social!
 
Sunday Ski, Snowboard, Snowshoeing and Lunch

This year we're heading back to Snowbird, king of snowfall for Utah resorts! Snowbird receives on average over 500 inches of the greatest snow on earth every year! Come join us for an awesome day of skiing, boarding and relaxation in Little Cottonwood Canyon. We'll have a private meeting room at the Cliff Lodge in the Superior Room where lunch will be served. The Cliff Lodge is at entrance 4 at Snowbird. You're welcome to hang around and rest your tired legs because we'll have the room available all day. Don't forget to join us at the Cliff Spa at the end of the day for a soak in the roof-top hot tub or for relaxation in the steam room and dry sauna. You can book spa services by calling the Cliff Spa directly (801) 933-2222.

Show What You've Got in the Next QUAC Calendar!

By popular demand, QUAC will be producing a new calendar, and just in time as the last calendar is running out of months. Planning is in the preliminary stages, but we hope to have new calendars available by Pride Weekend. if you would like your fifteen minutes of fame to last a whole month, or if you're the shy retiring type who needs to be brought out of your shell, consider modeling for the next calendar. Kevin McDaniel is in charge of the calendar, so if you are interested let him know. If you are interested, but bashful or want to be begged, also let him know and he will talk you into it.

 

  • Water polo practice is Mondays 7:30 – 9:00PM at Steiner Aquatic Center, 645 Guardsman Way (1580 East) and Tuesdays 7:15 – 8:30PM (beginning level) at Northwest Recreation Center, 1255 Clark Avenue (300 North).
