Hi everyone,
Just a reminder - there is NO BCRG this coming Wednesday!!!
New 2015 BCRG Meeting dates
Change to previously advised 2015 BCRG schedule
New Diary Dates for 2015 are: 4 March, 22 July and 11 November.

Hi everyone
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year period.

Following our discussion at the November BCRG, I consulted with several regular BCRG participants and EPA Victoria about how we could increase the effectiveness of BCRG. Consequently, please note that there has been a change to the previously advised dates for BCRG this year. There will be 3 meetings in 2015: 4 March, 22 July and 11 November.

We hope that this change will result in better participation by community members and stakeholder agency groups. The new timing also better aligns with EPA reporting schedules. Andrea and I have been asked by EPA Victoria to use the additional time to reach a broader audience in the general Brooklyn area.

The consultation also revealed a need to keep to a 2-hour meeting maximum, and to refocus discussion to ensure that we concentrate on the reduction of major dust sources, as well as odour where necessary. We have been given a very strong message that, while initiatives such as tree planting along trails and roads are appreciated and important for the area, they should not take up valuable meeting time that could otherwise be used for discussions about fixing major air quality issues.

We look forward to a productive year for BCRG, one that builds on the great work already done in order to make a great difference to the general Brooklyn area.
Please contact me on 0418 373 352 if you wish to discuss any aspect of BCRG.

Kind regards
Jen Lilburn
Convenor, Brooklyn Community Representative Group
