Twenty-six years ago, I started my teaching career in the Jefferson Parish Public School System (JPPSS) as a junior high school mathematics teacher at Henry Ford. After thirteen years in the classroom, I became the district’s secondary mathematics consultant in 2008, before being promoted to the position of network executive director in 2012. Most recently, on January 29, 2015, I was sworn in as acting superintendent with the unanimous vote from the School Board.
