Faces of the Village

Emily Brett  and Amelia Took.  The girls both play for Colchester Ladies Football Club which is based at Boxted Sports and Social Club.

Emily (L) is a midfielder and a good scorer.  The best match she ever played was at Chelmsford where she scored two goals.  The team drew 3 all that day.

Amelia (R) is the goalkeeper.  Her best match was a home game when  Colchester won because Amelia had kept a clean sheet.

Both the girls live in Boxted. Amelia attends Boxted primary school and Amelia Stoke by Nayland.

Thursday night is training night and up to 50 girls of all ages attend.

Abi, the coach, would be pleased to hear from any girls interested in joining the club. Contact her on 07735 003362

Colchester Borough Council’s Local Plan
Issues and Options Consultation -
16 January 2015 - 27 February 2015

The new Local Plan is an important document which will determine the way forward for Colchester. It will provide the strategy for the growth of the Borough, setting out what development will take place and where, to 2032 and beyond. Once adopted, the new Local Plan will replace the Borough’s existing local planning policies.

The Plan will set out a vision for the area, establishing the long term aims and aspirations for the Borough going forward. The Plan will include policies and allocations that help to deliver these aims and aspirations.

For details of the consultation, including the Issues and Options Consultation Paper and a questionnaire, please visit the Issues and Options page of the website.  Paper copies of the consultation documents will be available at Colchester Library during normal opening hours.

Consultation drop-in sessions are being held at the times and locations set out below. Please do come along and chat to one of the Council’s Officers about your thoughts and ideas, or to ask any questions you may have about the future development of the Borough, the Local Plan or the consultation itself.

The consultation runs from Friday 16 January 2015 until 5pm Friday 27 February 2015.

All representations should be made using the online questionnaire, or emailed to planning.policy@colchester.gov.uk. Please note that all documents (other than maps and images) should be submitted in Word format, pdf submissions will not be accepted.

Boxted Parish Council has drawn up a suggested template for your reply to Colchester Borough Council

“ I note from the Colchester Borough Council Local Plan Issues and Options Consultation paper that options 3A and 3B provide for development North of the A 12 on land in or adjacent to the villages of Boxted and Langham (and therefore further encroaching upon the Dedham Vale AONB)

The residents of Boxted have recently been canvassed for their views in relation to their Neighbourhood Development Plan. There has been overwhelming support (94%) for the maintenance of a clear green boundary between Boxted and Colchester to maintain the village identity of Boxted.

I deplore the inclusion of Options 3A and 3B in the Issues and Options Consultation Paper and would request that these Options be removed from the plan.
