USA BMX has just announced that Chesapeake BMX is the #1 track on the East coast and third overall in the nation out of a field of over 350 facilities. This ranking was based on the number of races hosted, the number of average riders per race, the number of performance awards earned by riders, and the number of new members who joined and renewed their memberships through the track.
“We are excited to be ranked #1 BMX track in the Eastern Division and 3rd overall in the nation by the National Sanctioning organization, USA BMX," said Doug O’Connor, Track Director at Chesapeake BMX. “The Board and all of the volunteers at Chesapeake BMX have worked countless hours to make sure we have the best riding experience possible for BMX riders of all ages.”

For 4 out of the last 5 years, the track has hosted National BMX races. This year the 2015 East Coast Nationals are scheduled to return to Chesapeake BMX on June 12-15, bringing over 1200 riders to Anne Arundel County. Connie Del Signore, President and CEO of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County CVB said "Sports events are all about the impact of visitors and their accompanying dollars to a community. When an event is as premier as The Chesapeake BMX, the additional cache helps us to attract similar ones in the future. We are delighted to see that nearly 400 jobs were supported and local tax receipts contributed over $40,000, benefiting every resident of Anne Arundel County.
