Scholarship recipients receive an exclusive invitation to  the Resident and Student Simulation Training Program, providing novice learners with an opportunity to learn how to perform basic vascular procedures.

The program offers multiple simulation stations with varying simulations of vascular procedures including performance of a vascular anastomosis on an arterial model (medical students), performance of an open abdominal aortic aneurysm repair (surgical residents), and performance of an EVAR or TEVAR in a safe and stress free environment. 







2015 VAM Travel Scholarships
The Society for Vascular Surgery is offering General Surgery Resident/Medical Student Travel Scholarships and Minority Medical Student Travel Scholarships for the 2015 Vascular Annual Meeting.

The program allows residents and students to explore their interest in vascular surgery and importantly provides students and residents with the opportunity to meet members and leaders of the vascular surgical community. 



USMLE Step 1 Test-taking Tips
The AMA Wire shared tips from Joshua D. Brooks, PhD, associate director of medical academics at Kaplan Medical, for medical students taking the USMLE Step 1.

He gives advice on preparing for the exam questions as well as pacing yourself effectively throughout the exam.



IAVS Abstract Submissions due February 16
The Introduction to Academic Vascular Surgery (IAVS) conference is accepting abstracts until Monday, February 16, 2015.  Students, general surgery residents, vascular residents and fellows are all invited to submit.

Its ninth annual conference will be held April 9-11, 2015 in Tampa, FL.
