A HAPPY NEW YEAR
FOR EXCEED CLIENTS!

Casa del Valle Residential Facility Happenings...

In January, clients at Casa enjoyed 250 hours in the community participating in a variety of activities including shopping, getting manicures, going to church, visiting a house mate in the hospital, bowling, dancing, and ending the month visiting the world's biggest dinosaur attraction in Cabazon.

We still have openings for one female and one male.

Santa Fe (Hemet) ADC Happenings...

Our ADC clients celebrated their “Bring in the New Year” theme for January. Everyone enjoyed a special outing to a local golfing course for a day of fun. The clients and staff are also excited about starting their own plot at our Tierra Buena Community Garden. They look forward to freshly grown vegetables and flowers.

Santa Fe (Hemet) WAC Happenings...

2015 has started out great. Along with our usual assembly, labeling, stuffing, drilling and sanding jobs, our clients have been working on packaging over a million screws and miscellaneous hardware. The WAP program is also excited to welcome new Client Council Committee members.

Perris ADC Happenings...

The ADC has a new theme for the new year!  We have chosen "Be The Reason Someone Smiles" for our theme.  Not only are we trying to make others smile, but we have found that doing this puts a smile on our face as well.  The clients have delivered tissue paper flowers to our Mission Grove office, made a bouquet of flowers and a nice drawing for Casa Del Valle, made bracelets and handed them out to the public while on EPAC, went to Sack's Thrift Avenue Thrift Store and told the customers to "have a great day", drew pictures and handed them out, made heart baskets with thank you inside for the staff, and made cookies and handed them out.  We have had a lot of fun with this theme and look forward to continuing on throughout February.

Perris WAC Happenings...

Our clients have been keeping busy this month working on several contracts : packaging racing components, repacking and labeling kitchen utensils, assembling advertising items and assembling shelving components.

They are also excited about the nominations for Client Council Officers: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and Sergeant at Arms. Campaign Posters can be found throughout the building. Elections will be early February.

We are grateful for the referrals we receive from Inland Regional Center.  We continue to strive to enrich the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities.

Supported Employment Happenings...

Placements were made at Walgreens Distribution Center and Tech Data Distribution Center. Staff participated in community outreach events at Colton Chamber of Commerce, Temecula Chamber of Commerce, Riverside County VAAC, City of Riverside, and Lake Elsinore School District.

January Photos...

Casa clients love dancing most of all!

The "World's Biggest Dinosaurs" were the perfect destination for an EPAC to Cabazon.

CDSA IE Caucus

Legislative Breakfast

2015 CDSA Inland Empire Caucus Legislative Breakfast
January 30, 2015

EXCEED and eleven other agencies who make up the California Disability Services Association (CDSA) Inland Empire Caucus, a network of local organizations serving thousands of individuals who have disabilities in the surrounding communities, held its 11th Annual Legislative Breakfast Friday, January 30th. Twenty State, local officials and representatives were in attendance along with guests Nancy Bargmann from the Department of Developmental Services and Carol Fitzgibbons, Inland Regional Center Executive Director.

The message was:

Every recipe takes multiple ingredients in order to bake something successfully.

We must continue to work together to provide all critically needed ingredients, otherwise known as services and supports, to Californians who have disabilities.

The leadership was challenged to make certain that every critical ingredient (including funding) is available, accessible and usable as we continue to provide essential services and supports for these remarkable individuals.
