Parish Healing Mission, Wembley, October 2014

Radka Allen writes
At the beginning of last October a Parish Mission Weekend took place in our Parish of English Martyrs in Wembley.  It was a beautiful weekend of prayer and joy complemented by good weather for most of the time.

It began on Thursday night with a large number of parishioners and their friends attending the evening of prayer and worship. Their number was so much larger than I expected.  This was a sign of how the weekend would go on.  The Lord brought many people both for the individual prayer and for the open days.  On Saturday night, we did not leave the church until about 11pm, but no one wanting a prayer left without one.  It was such a joy to see all those people coming to our Lord Jesus and so many going away with a sense of His love and peace and healing.  One lady, after the prayer, could see the face of her granddaughter for the first time!

Pauline and Fr. Laurence lead the weekend in their usual easy going and sensitive way.  All the Team were so “helpful”, giving and undemanding.  As a trainee, I found taking part in the individual prayers very enriching.  It allowed me to learn a lot and gain more experience and extra confidence.

The weekend was not without its troubles and obstacles, but I want to thank Pauline, Fr. Laurence and Team, as well as our Parish Priest, Fr Hugh and Mary Boyle for all your hard work and support in making this mission weekend possible and such a success.  Seeing this wonderful event happen in my parish made me realise that even someone like me can initiate something wonderful and beneficial for so many people.  All it required was the invitation to the Little Way Healing Ministries Team, who through the guidance of Holy Spirit led prayer, enabled the Lord to bestow His gracious healing and graces which He so longs to give us.

Healing Weekend in Aberdeen draws over 1000

Paul Costello writes
More than 1000 people attended a Parish Healing mission weekend at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Aberdeen in August 2014.  Beginning on the Thursday evening and continuing till after the last Mass on the Sunday evening, LWHM offered healing prayer ministry to parishioners and all-comers alike.

Led by Fr. Laurence O.S.A. and Pauline Edwards, the LWHM team prayed with people individually or sometimes in whole family groups by the laying on of hands on Thursday evening, after the Saturday evening Vigil Mass and after each of the three Sunday Masses in English and after the two Sunday Masses for the Polish parishioners.
“What really pleased me was the vast number of people from the parish and beyond who came forward for healing prayer” Cathedral Administrator Fr. Keith Herrera said.

All day Friday was devoted to more prolonged prayer for healing of memories for individuals, with one attendee speaking about the spirituality of the experience.  “I was like a stone when I arrived” the parishioner said “I had had several miscarriages.  I felt alienated from God.   I was angry with God but now I feel light.  Something has lifted”.

Fr. Laurence said the event helped people become more at one with Christ.  “We are being called by the Lord to prepare ourselves to become part of a warm tide renewing the Church” he said.  “It is warm because it is a tide of love, of listening, of re-commitment and renewal.”  Through this healing prayer the Holy Spirit leads people from being detached, solitary and often isolated, to the experience of a more engaged and conscious membership of Christ’s body”.

The Aberdeen Cathedral LWHM team offers the Little Way Healing of Memories ministry by appointment on Thursday afternoons.
“After this amazing weekend we were fully booked for the following few months” Deacon Tony Schmitz said. “A number of people felt their faith in God restored after receiving a tangible experience of healing”.  “This often then enabled them to witness to their faith.  Aberdeen, as elsewhere, is in much need of such witness”.

Please see the write up in the paper via the link below following the hugely successful Parish Mission in Aberdeen.  As you will all be aware, this event was led by both Pauline and Fr. Laurence in Collaborative Ministry, not quite reflected in the titile!

Testimonies from the Healing of Memories Course, Holywell, September 2014

Sarah writes:
“Before coming to the Healing of Memories course I was fed up and blamed myself for my unhappiness.  I felt angry with God and with Our Lady. After years of praying for God’s will to be done, I felt none the wiser and struggled not to feel like a failure. I was afraid of upsetting people and aware that I was always trying to please.  During the prayer a memory came to me when as a child, I had felt very misunderstood and victimized.  As a result of the prayer, the little girl in me was able to claim her voice, a voice that had been silenced over the years. It was so healing to know that I was still loved and accepted by Jesus and others.  I feel happy for the first time in ages, loved, valued and hopeful about the future. I feel I can stop trying to earn God’s favour and just rest with him. I am so thankful to God for this ministry”.

Prisca writes:
Before I received this prayer, there were many difficulties in my family relationships, and relationships with others. After a conversation with someone from this ministry at the New Dawn Conference, I realised that one of the people who had been extremely cruel to me as a child still threatened me in my imagination, and I had not forgiven him.  During the prayer I experienced the comfort, strength and real presence of Jesus in my life at the time of the damage to my mind, soul, heart and body.  I am now free in a way that I have never previously known. I feel so much joy, so much transformation, such unexpected peace and joy in the Lord.

J.Boswell writes:
Before coming on the Healing course, I thought that I did not need healing.  I felt fine, and believed that I had handled any childhood issues so that they no longer affected me.  On the first evening, a word of knowledge was spoken about pain on the side of the face.  Instantly, this reminded me of an incident when my Dad had slapped me across my face.
During prayer for the healing of this memory, Jesus was able to show me the consequences of the memory and how it had impacted on my life. I felt the safety, warmth and love of Jesus in a very personal way.  I saw myself as Jesus sees me, as a beautiful creation, a child of God who was always intended to be loved and cherished. I was being filled up with the love of God.  I have been set free from so much that has been affecting me and am now able to feel more love for myself, for the Lord, and for my brothers and sisters in Christ.  On the last evening, a pain that I had had in my neck all week suddenly disappeared. Praise God!

Regional Coordinators

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

We are very pleased to be able to let you know that after due discernment with Council and Helen CEO, that we now have members who have accepted to serve the ministry as co-ordinators, deputy co-ordinators and assistant co-ordinators for the various regions.

This will be enormously important to the whole ministry and we believe that it will aid communication throughout LWHM. Some of the regions may be geographically quite far apart .As more people come to be trained and gain experience in promoting the Prayer for the Healing of Memories, gradually we expect the regions to become smaller and members will then not have to travel too far.

The Regional Co-ordinators will be able to ensure that all newcomers are welcomed into the appropriate Cell group. They will be able to be a 'bridge' between the members of the Cell groups, Council and CEO Helen; bringing any difficulties or issues etcetera, for clarification.

As this ministry continues to develop, we ask the Holy Spirit to pour out more gifts in a variety of ways, so that those who have accepted this responsibility will not feel overburdened. Having three to share the responsibility will be very helpful in counteracting the latter.

The Holy Spirit,we believe, is guiding us and is certainly accompanying us in all that we do.

We have the bold dialogue of Moses with God. In Exodus 33:13b, Moses said: "Remember, too, that this people is your own people."The Lord replied:"I myself will go with you, and I will give you rest." Moses said: If you are not going with us yourself,do not make us leave this place. By what means can it be known that I,and my people, have won your favour, if not by your going with us ?"

Let us be certain that the Lord is with us and He will never abandon us.Please keep the Co-ordinators in your prayers.

Helen will send an email with their names and the regions during the next month.

Every blessing and love from Fr.Laurence O.S.A and Pauline Edwards.
Aylesbury Healing Event, November 2014

Antoine received Healing of Memories prayer at Aylesbury:
He says: “During the prayer I was taken back to a childhood memory that has been a burden to me. I was prayed for in a very special way and was led through a series of specific times in my life when I had been hurt. At the end of it all, I experienced Jesus in a way I had never felt before. The feeling I just can’t describe. It is an emotional breakthrough.

Alonso received Healing of Memories prayer at Aylesbury:
I discovered a loneliness in my heart and an anger with my parents for paying more attention to my brothers than to me.  I had difficulties when socializing and in standing up for myself. As I relived these moments I realised that Jesus was with me, sharing my pain and my loneliness. I felt that he healed my broken relationships, giving me back dignity and courage, increasing acceptance of myself.  He also told me that he loved me the way that I am.I feel like a new man, I can stand tall and speak up for myself, and that is what I am going to do from now on.

Website Update
Thank you Albert, we are grateful to you for all the time and hard work you have devoted to designing the Online Administration System and collating the vast Database. This has made an enormous difference for all those involved in management matters!

Albert Joseph's update on the website:

As part of our ongoing plans to improve our administration and public presence, in the first quarter of 2014 we launched an Online Administration System to aid management of the New Spring Trust activities such as Venue bookings, Events, Testimonies and Contacts Management. This system uses a secure centralized database and can be accessed from any web browser over the internet via secure login. Using this system has helped reduce unnecessary paperwork and transfer of data.

The second stage of our improvement plan was to re-develop our Public Website to automatically access information from the above mentioned Administration System and present it to the public in a consistent manner, thereby reducing the need for volunteers to keep the public website updated regularly. We are hoping to launch the new public website which will also include on-line course booking in the first quarter of 2015. We ask for your prayers for this to go ahead smoothly.
