Thorne Summer Camp

Early Bird Catches the.... Discount!

Thorne Summer Camp 2015 is off to a rocking start with registrations pouring in. Parents and their kids are excited about the fun "Camp Experiences" that Thorne is offering this Summer like Critter Search, Eco-Explorers, At Home in the Woods, Wild Skills, and Birds & Bird Banding! Kids ages 3-15 will have a blast practicing important survival skills, exploring forests and streams, learning about local plants and animals, and getting their hands on tadpoles, crawfish, grasshoppers, and more in Thorne's award-winning "Camp Experiences" in Boulder and Littleton

Free Jeff & Paige Concerts

February 23 and March 16


Thorne is elated to announce that we will be hosting 2 FREE Jeff & Paige concerts at Sombrero Marsh on February 23 and March 16! Join the fun with Jeff & Paige, Boulder’s favorite kids’ nature performers. The fun begins at 5:00 with a variety of nature exploration stations including compost worms and microscopes, face painting, and skins and skulls. Then, at 5:30, get ready to boogie with Jeff and Paige! The concert should last about an hour and will be full of fun skits, games, and nature trivia.

Space is limited, so please RSVP to stephanie@thornenature.org with the date you wish to attend (February 23 or March 16), your name, and the number of kids and adults who will be attending. We hope to see you there!

Wild Play in Nature

More and more studies of childhood development have stressed the importance of wild play in nature for very young children. What is wild play? It is allowing children to play freely in nature, enjoying it in their own individual way. This is unstructured play, allowing the child to experience whatever comes along.
