How To Participate in Sunday's LOVE LOCAL Treasure Hunt

Don't miss Elizabeth Street Garden’s first LOVE LOCAL Treasure Hunt from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 8, come snow or come shine. Prize drawings at 6:30 p.m. This FREE event is open to the public.
  1. Look for green balloons outside participating neighborhood shops and restaurants located on the LOVE LOCAL Treasure Hunt map. The map will also be available at the Garden, participating businesses and elizabethstreetgarden.org for download.

  2. Complete fun activities at each location to enter prize drawings totaling more than $3,000 worth of treasure contributed by 46 participating businesses. Prizes include gift certificates, dinners out, personal services, clothing, jewelry and more. (Check out our Facebook Event and Timeline to see photos.) The more shops visited, the more chances to win!

  3. Join the discussion. Tweet @ElizabethStGrdn using #ESGLoveLocal. Check in and upload photos at Facebook Place ElizabethStreetGarden. Instagram @ElizabethStGrdn.

  4. Win grand prizes and enjoy light bites and refreshments. Prize drawings will be held at 6:30 p.m. at Peasant, 194 Elizabeth St. You don't need to be present to win ... but wouldn’t it be more fun?

In addition to their contribution of drawing prizes, participating businesses have pledged to give 10 percent of purchases made cooperatively with the LOVE LOCAL Treasure Hunt event to support Friends of Elizabeth Street Garden.

NYC Community Garden Update

Please join local community groups and Elizabeth Street Garden supporters to preserve precious green spaces:

Rally with the New York City Community Garden Coalition at City Hall, at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 10 calling on Mayor de Blasio to stop NYC Housing Preservation & Development from selling 17 active community gardens for development when there are dozens of vacant lots that can be sold instead.

Sign a petition to Establish a Community Gardens District that includes all community gardens within Community Board 3 and map and designate these gardens as parklands. On Jan. 29, CB 3’s Full Board passed a resolution supporting the creation of a Community Gardens District in its borders.
Volunteers help to keep the Garden open during the sunniest and warmest hours of the day, year round.

Winter Hours (weather welcoming)
Weekends: 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Wednesdays lunchtime: Noon – 2 p.m.
(Thursdays and Fridays: The Garden may be open if the weather looks particularly inviting.)

See you in the Garden.
