Set in a seedy Oklahoma City motel room, the play centers on the meeting between Agnes (Heather Ferrell), a divorced waitress with a fondness for cocaine and isolation, and Peter (Geremy Webne-Behrman), a soft-spoken, possibly AWOL Gulf War drifter who is introduced to Agnes by her lesbian friend, R.C. (Melissa Kearney), while Agnes tries to avoid her physically abusive, just release from prison ex-husband, Jerry (David Hastings). On top of that, there’s a hidden bug infestation problem that has both Agnes and Peter dealing with scathing welts and festering scores. As this riveting thriller heads towards a fever pitch, their growing relationship blossoms - along with Peter’s (and eventually Agnes’) paranoia of the war in Iraq, the Oklahoma City bombing, kidnappings, hostages, cult suicides, and the secret shadow government performing experiments on soldiers; all of which drives Agnes slowly into the depths of insanity.
