Dear <<First Name>>,
Congratulations on your admission to The Ohio State University! We look forward to welcoming you to campus and introducing you to the School of Communication. In the School of Communication at Ohio State, students study one of four undergraduate majors:
Communication and journalism are exciting fields and offer students a high degree of flexibility with a broad array of career options.
Beyond the classroom
In the School of Communication, we support our students to the tune of $80,000 in need and merit based scholarships each year. Students are encouraged to get involved in student organizations such as the Society of Professional Journalists, the Public Relations Student Society of America, and the award-winning student media group, The Lantern. Engaging in undergraduate research as research assistants and participating in internship opportunities are critical components to a well-rounded study of communication and journalism. Internships help students gain valuable skills and experiences in the professional world, and allow students to apply in-classroom experiences in a real-world setting.
After graduation
Communication and journalism graduates go on to exciting careers in public and private sectors. With more than 18,000 alumni, our graduates can be found across the globe as professional leaders in communication, marketing and public relations; award-winning journalists; groundbreaking researchers and inspirational teachers.
You are starting an exciting journey in your life. We know choosing a university and major is an important decision, so please let us know if we can help or offer advice as you get to know us and we get to know you. If you have further questions about the School of Communication at The Ohio State University, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
