I have been blessed by getting to know them and look forward to continuing on in ministry with them in the years ahead!

Buy your Veggies through the Good Food Box!

Get fresh, local organic, and low cost veggies & fruits!
Our Parish Hall is a pick up location for The Ottawa Good Food Box ~ A non-profit community-based initiative bringing neighbours together to buy a variety of delicious and nutritious fresh fruits and vegetables at wholesale prices. Our goal is to purchase food that is in season and is grown as close to home as possible.

It works like a large buying club with centralized buying and coordination. And it’s open to everyone – with no membership fees.

The next delivery is February 18th and the order due date is February 9th. Go to: www.ottawagoodfoodbox.ca or call Pastor Monique to arrange for a cash order.

Are you ready to take a Leadership-Leap???
To do the amazing ministry that we do the Parish of Huntley is dependent on volunteers. We have an amazing team of volunteers who develop their discipleship through active participation in our various activities and worship responsibilities.

It is with much gratitude that our community is blessed by everyones participation and it is a response to everyones baptismal call to participate in any way that you can.

One of the integral aspects of our parish is our Parish Council. The Council is responsible, on behalf of the parishioners, for the overall governance and ministry decision making of our community.

As I mentioned at church this past weekend I feel that our Council is one of the loveliest Councils in the Diocese! We all gather together with hope and expectation for our community and respect each others opinions and thoughts. We speak openly and authentically and work together to ensure that our community is as strong as it can be.

Each month we share with each other how we have been blessed and challenged in our journey and we consider how we can continually follow God's call for us at this time and in this place.

We meet once a month 10 months out of the year and we even share the occasional wine & cheese at our meetings!

Being part of Parish Council is a blessed and wonderful opportunity that requires approximately 4 - 6 hours of volunteer time per month (2 hours per month at meetings and then 2 - 4 hours of other at-home or at-church responsibilities).

We are currently looking for individuals who can take on various roles on this integral committee. If you are interested in a role on Council and feel God may be calling you to take a Leadership-Leap please contact me at huntleypriest@bellnet.ca or give me a shout at the office (613-839-3195)

More than a standard reference book, Making Sense of the Cross is a dialogue that encourages readers to bring their questions or doubts to the table."

Marked for Christ
Henna Painting (Mehndi) will be offered to the youth and children on Lent One to allow the younger parishioners to have a daily reminder of the Lenten Season.  This non-toxic art will stay on the skin until (approximately) Holy Week. Simple designs will be painted on by my daughter Lily on Sunday, February 22nd. Youth will gather during Sunday School time for the Mehndi application and younger children can have a Mehndi cross applied after the service. One of my inspirations for doing this comes from this lovely video on an Isaiah passage. Click HERE to watch it.  If you do not wish for your child to receive a mehndi painting please let us know that day.
