New Year & New Healthy You!
The beginning of the New Year is a time to let go of the old & welcome new healthy lifestyle changes that will support you in a positive way.
One of the best ways to begin is to create a healthy daily routine.
Dinacharya & Ayurvedic Daily Routine
Wake up early (best to rise before sunrise)
Gandush (oil pooling) a sesame oil/coconut oil mouth swish to release toxins from your mouth, head & neck area
Scrape your tongue
Start each day with a cup of warm to hot water
Apply warm Nasya oil to nasal membranes
Purge the bowels
Practice Yoga, Pranayama & Meditation
Exercise according to your Prakruti (constitutional body type), keeping in mind the season
Perform Abhyanga (self oil massage) with a Pitta Pacifying cooling oil or coconut oil
Take a warm bath or shower after your Abhyanga
Eat fruit or drink herb teas for breakfast and eat according to your Prakruti
Don't retain natural urges such as yawning, sneezing or urinating
Engage in activities that are fulfilling & bring you joy
Eat main meal of the day between 10am & 2pm in a quiet, settled atmosphere (very important)
Be mindful of stresses through the day
Reduce the tendency to rush, worry & overeat
Treat yourself gently & lovingly
Walk & relax in nature daily
Meditate at the end of the day's activities
Retire to bed by 10pm
By following these daily practices you will provide a supportive framework to live a balanced daily life!
Ayurveda's Pacifying Products

Ayurvedic Cooling Recipe
Mint & Coriander Chutney
1 cup fresh mint leaves
1 cup fresh coriander leaves
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp honey or brown sugar
1 green chilli
1 small onion chopped (optional)
1 small tomato chopped
1 tbsp fresh ginger root grated
Add salt to taste
Wash mint & coriander leaves, green chilli & drain.
Put all the ingredients into your blender & blend until smooth like a puree.
Adds zing to a simple meal!
