New Year & New Healthy You!

The beginning of the New Year is a time to let go of the old & welcome new healthy lifestyle changes that will support you in a positive way.

One of the best ways to begin is to create a healthy daily routine.

Dinacharya & Ayurvedic Daily Routine

  • Wake up early (best to rise before sunrise)
  • Gandush (oil pooling) a sesame oil/coconut oil mouth swish to release toxins from your mouth, head & neck area
  • Scrape your tongue
  • Start each day with a cup of warm to hot water
  • Apply warm Nasya oil to nasal membranes
  • Purge the bowels
  • Practice Yoga, Pranayama & Meditation
  • Exercise according to your Prakruti (constitutional body type), keeping in mind the season
  • Perform Abhyanga (self oil massage) with a Pitta Pacifying cooling oil or coconut oil
  • Take a warm bath or shower after your Abhyanga
  • Eat fruit or drink herb teas for breakfast and eat according to your Prakruti
  • Don't retain natural urges such as yawning, sneezing or urinating
  • Engage in activities that are fulfilling & bring you joy
  • Eat main meal of the day between 10am & 2pm in a quiet, settled atmosphere (very important)
  • Be mindful of stresses through the day
  • Reduce the tendency to rush, worry & overeat
  • Treat yourself gently & lovingly
  • Walk & relax in nature daily
  • Meditate at the end of the day's activities
  • Retire to bed by 10pm

By following these daily practices you will provide a supportive framework to live a balanced daily life!
