WJCS provides 20,000 Westchester residents each year with crucial services, with the help of over 500 volunteers. Want to be more involved?

Administrative Assistance, Family Mental Health Clinic, Hartsdale
Weekdays for 3-5 hours
A volunteer is sought to assist the Director of Developmental Disabilities Counseling with administrative tasks. Projects will include organizing files and excel data entry. Volunteer should feel confident in Microsoft Word and Excel skills.


Administrative Help, Family Mental Health Clinic, Peekskill
Weekdays for 3-9 hours
A volunteer is sought to assist clinic staff with administrative tasks such as filing, copying, and paperwork. Volunteer should have daytime availability, good attention to detail, and have some office experience. Volunteer should be reliable and responsible.


Facilitator and Chaperone, Supper Club, Hartsdale
Wednesday 6 P.M. – 8:30 P.M.
The Supper Club is a group of young adults with Autistic Spectrum Disorders/Asperger's Syndrome who meet every week and share dinner. The purpose of the meetings is to alleviate social isolation and hone social skills. The group seeks volunteers to enjoy dinner and play table games (checkers, board games, cards).


SAT and/or Trigonometry Tutor, WJCS Margaret's Place, White Plains
Monday 3:30 P.M. - 5:30 P.M.
Wednesday 3:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M.

Tutor a student in the  program at White Plains High School in SAT material and/or trigonometry. The student is seeking help improving SAT scores and gaining a better understanding of trigonometry. Volunteer must feel confident in one of these areas.


Nutrition Instructor, Mary J Blige Center for Women, Yonkers
Monday 4:15 P.M. - 5:30 P.M.
The after school program for girls ages 9-14, is seeking a volunteer who can teach approximates 15 participants about nutrition through discussion and demonstration. The center will provide access to the full kitchen as well as all materials necessary. Volunteer should have professional knowledge of nutrition and feel comfortable teaching 15 girls in this age range.


Tutors for Elementary/Middle School, Mary J Blige Center for Women, Yonkers
Monday-Friday 3:00 P.M. - 4:30 P.M.
The after school program for girls ages 9-14, is seeking a volunteer to help children with homework (subjects from elementary and middle school, especially math). Volunteer should enjoy helping children.


Arts and Crafts Leader, Mary J Blige Center for Women, Yonkers
Wednesday 4:15 P.M. - 5:30 P.M.

The after school program for girls ages 9-14, is seeking a volunteer who can lead crafts for 15 girls in this age range. The center will provide all necessary materials. Crafts could include card making, knitting, sewing, mosaics, clothing decorating, etc. Volunteer should feel comfortable with leading a group.

Meal delivery to isolated seniors, Sinai Free Synagogue, Mt Vernon
Monday-Thursday for 1-2 hour shifts between 11 A.M. – 1 P.M.
This program serves frail and isolated senior citizens with kosher meal delivery from a friendly volunteer. Volunteers are sought to deliver meals to lonely seniors in Westchester especially in Tarrytown and White Plains.


Sort and pack clothing donations, Kids’ Kloset, White Plains
Weekday, weeknight, and weekend shifts, sign up for desired shift
WJCS Kids’ Kloset collects gently used clothing donations for distribution to newborns through 20 year olds. Volunteers age 12 to adult are needed to sort clothing and make clothing packages for children in need.
