UPDATE TO MEMBERS
We won't be silenced
Family First NZ v Charities Commission
Wellington High Court
Hi <<First Name(s)>>
In a couple of months
(date to be finalised), we will be at the Wellington High Court fighting attempts by the Charities Commission to muzzle us through de-registration.
Ultimately, we will be fighting the view that traditional family values that you and I have are '
controversial' and of
'no public benefit' and that
'it is in the public interest to remove the Trust...' (the words of the Charities Registration Board).
Our opponents are hoping that they can shut us up, and that by de-registering us, we will just 'go away'.
They're completely wrong!
If anything, it's fired us up to fight even more for marriage, strong families, safe communities, life issues, and the values that matter to a strong society. We also know that this heavy handed approach from a government organisation and the weak (almost non-existent) response from the politicians has also upset many of you.
Please know that we will fight this all the way.
If they were to succeed against us, which other group/s that you value would the government target next because they don't agree with them?
The one disadvantage with the action that this government organisation is taking is that
there are significant legal costs in fighting the Charities Commission (who are well funded courtesy of you, the taxpayer). At a time when we're producing quality research on
screentime and an upcoming report on
Gender 'Identity', producing resources like the
Have Your Say phone app, the hugely successful
Value Your Vote resource last year, the
Choose Life campaign,
legal advice on the real effects of the anti-smacking law,
conferences, and producing
media releases and
information that is of value to you, this is putting us under undue financial pressure.
Please help us fight. If you are able, we would greatly appreciate financial support as we fight for what you believe in.

We will keep you up to date with progress on this important issue - but be reassured -
WE AREN'T GOING AWAY ANYTIME SOON!
Thanks for consideration of this important request.
