For our 2015 Cultural Rendez-Vous, which will take place May 23 & 24 and for which the theme will be Mexico!, we want to get the merchants and the community involved in order to celebrate this fascinating culture throughout the month of May!

This project is inspired by mexican artist Pedro Linares' alebrijes; colorful paper maché sculptures representing animals or fantastical creatures.

We invite individuals and families interested in partipating in two workshops during which you will create a sculpture (two workshops are needed in order to do the paper maché and the painting). Your creatures will then either be adopted by a Pointe-Claire merchant who will place it in their display window, or it will have the pleasure of being exhibited at the Stewart Hall Cultural Centre during the month of May.

For more information, contact Julie Paquin au 514 630-1220 ext. 1772 julie.paquin@pointe-claire.ca

Curators: Manel Benchabane & Amanda Johnston
The Stewart Hall Art Gallery is proud to present Vertigo, an exhibition featuring seven artists, whose artworks are a result of extensive visual research. Art often relates to issues of perception, both physical and visual. When we direct our gaze towards the artwork, we seek to understand the new space we are confronted with. Obscured by feelings of comprehension and the lack thereof, once we are confronted with this discovery, our perception of the image becomes unsettled and precarious; from this arises the feeling of vertigo.
