To destroy yourself, is to forget yourself.
Forget the ideas you have held and cherished so long about who you are.
Let others define you.
There’s no need to define yourself now.
Let go of all concepts.
Just for a moment.
Let go of all concepts.
Of who you are, who you have been, and of who you could become.
Don’t try to attain anything.
This isn’t a doing.
It is simply looking.
Let go.
Be still.
Turn inward.
Any thought that arises, simply allow it. You don’t have to believe it. You don’t have to enjoy it. You don’t have to entertain it.
You can use these thoughts, to point you to their source. To find the source of the mind.
Turn inward.
Seek out the source from where this I who is trying to be still, resides. The one who is experiencing thoughts arising and falling away.
Don’t believe any thought arising that may tell you it cannot be done.
Simply look.
Look quietly, persistently, with full attention, with full awareness, look for the root of this “I”. You will find stillness, only stillness. Rest here. This is your true resting place.
“Day by day, become more and more intimate with the inner stillness, joy and love which is the fragrance your own pure heart.
Keep quiet.”
Don’t take my word for it. Don’t even take the word of Mooji, or Ramana Maharshi. All these words are simply pointing to the Truth of who you are. Follow their pointing.
Look for yourself. Look, for your Self. Turn inward, and look for the source of the one who is looking. Look from where the “I” arises.
Cease all other activities, of mind and body, just for the duration of this contemplation, just even for a moment.
Look.
It’s very simple.
Look, and you will see.
“Like the clear stillness of autumn water — pure and without activity; in its tranquil depths are no obstructions. Such a one is called a man of Tao — a man who has nothing further to do.”
You are already this still, silent, awareness, taking all in. Watching all unfold. There is nothing more to do.
Rest in this quiet place.
See the Truth of who you are. Turn your attention inward, away from objects, to the subject, the one who is looking.
Rest here.
Be still. In stillness, is Truth.
“I am the changeless,
ever changing breath of life.
I am the stillness,
in which the heart beats.
I am the silence,
listen and you will hear me.”
— Bhagavati
