Thank you, thank you, thank you. We had a record turnout and a super night of dancing.
3sticks delivered on the promises and Chris Jewell did a brilliant job making sure everyone had a good time.

Please help us to keep up this level of pleasure by telling your mates what a good time you had.

Next month we have a much bigger band, don't say we don't give you variety. Thingumijigs have an instrument line up that sounds like a musical superstore.

Pete Hendy is our token northener adding more variety to our caller line up.

The Widders are a border Morris side from Chepstow, who have danced at festivals through the UK and Europe. Border Morris is a tradition from the England/Wales border. During hard winters farmers would go out dancing to supplement their income. This was a form of begging which was illegal at the time, so dancers took to wearing tatty clothing and blackening their faces to disguise themselves.

We have danced at festivals including the Stonehenge summer solstice, Green Man and Wayfest.

2015
  • March 28th - Thingumijigs with Pete Hendy calling - Widders border morris will make one of their understated appearances in the interval.
  • October 10th - the return of Phil Bassindale calling with a completely new and untried band although you might recognise everyone in it. They are currently labelled as the 'Bernie and Imo' band.
  • November 14th - Threepenny Bit, a lively young band from Hampshire, rapidly building a great reputation, with Martyn Harvey calling.
  • December 12th - with Dave Parsons and Juice for the Christmas special.
I hope you all agree this sounds a tempting menu, every one different and mostly quite new to us.
