Youth Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Day in Different Ways

Norris Square Neighborhood Project youth advocated for both Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s revolutionary legacy as well as his care for community members through marching in the #ReclaimtheDream March as well as baking Guava cookies for our neighbors Norris Square Senior Center.

My name is Samary, I’m 20 years old and I graduated from Mariana Bracetti Academy Charter School in 2013, after which I decided to take a break and figure some things out in my life, which was the best decision I ever made for myself. I am currently enrolled at Esperanza College and I'm studying to be a social worker.
My experience at Norris Square Neighborhood Project was really good! I got to learn a lot, Miss Evelyn and the staff there are all great people and it felt like a family. They understood that we have other things going on in our life and they took the time to listen and give good advice.
