Canteen Closed 27 February / K-12 Missions Canteen
Due to the ImagineNations Missions Conference being held from Thursday 26 February to Sunday 1 March, the School Canteen will be CLOSED on Friday 27 February.
Recess and lunch orders from the Canteen WILL NOT be available, however, we will be having a K-12 Missions Canteen on the day for lunch pre-orders only.
Students are requested to bring recess to school on the day (and lunch if they do not wish to pre-order). Read more here.

Congratulations Year 12, 2014
This cohort was a delight to have as a part of our community over the years and it is exciting to see them following the desires of their heart.
In the 2014 HSC, PCS had some very good results. A variety of courses achieved Band 6 results, including English (Advanced), Physics, Drama and Visual Arts. Special congratulations are to be extended to Melody Wong and Hope Velayo.

i Centre News
We have already met Middle and Senior School students as they borrow their textbooks for the year and we have looked forward to Junior School classes resuming this week.
The iCentre’s focus is to assist students and staff with their information and technology needs as well as provide wonderful books for their reading enjoyment.

Free Learner Driver Workshops for Parents
Young drivers are three times more likely to be involved in casualty crashes. That's why the Roads and Maritime Services has introduced a new licensing scheme, with more supervised driving practice for learner drivers.
To help parents in supervising learner drivers, the Roads and Maritime Services has set up a FREE 2 hour workshop for parents that offers practical advice on how to help learner drivers become safer drivers.
A FREE parents' workshop will be conducted by David Riches and hosted by Penrith City Council on Monday 9 March at Penrith Library (next to Westfield) from 6.00 pm – 8.00 pm.

From the Counsellor - Cool Kids
Children with Anxiety Issues - Years 3-6
The Cool Kids group is for boys and girls in Years 3 to 6, who have significant difficulties with issues relating to anxiety. This may include children with:
- Separation, self consciousness or social anxiety/ excessive shyness
- General fears or specific phobias
- Self esteem and confidence issues
- Poor social skills
- Worries, avoidance, reassurance seeking
- School refusal and anxiety-related arguments/temper outbursts
- Perfectionism, complains of headaches, tummy pains or sore legs
- Sleeping problems (falling asleep) or sleeping in parents’ bed
Cool Kids is an evidence-based treatment program for children with anxiety issues. Both children and their parents participate in a FREE 8-week program that will help children overcome and manage their anxiety at home and school and give parents practical strategies to support their children.
Groups are running during school Terms 1 and 2 in your local area. Please note that all families must attend an assessment to determine suitability for the group before attending.

Community News - the Mother's Day Classic for Breast Cancer
Get ready to celebrate a classic Mother’s Day
The annual Women in Super Mother’s Day Classic is Australia's biggest breast cancer research fundraising event. This year the event is being held on Sunday 10 May 2015.
Every Mother’s Day for the past 17 years, Australians have walked or run to fund research and honour those who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. At the 2014 Mother’s Day Classic more than 135,000 participants in 97 locations around the nation raised $4.5 million, bringing the overall total raised to $24.3 million.

The event is open to all ages and fitness levels so there is something for everyone whether you want to participate or simply come along and support.
