February update – ready for MIPIM?

Hello all –

Hope you survived the January project blitz; what was that? Like you, we’re now deep into 2015, firing on all platforms with a MIPIM panel and briefing on Inward Investment (thanks, NLA, for making room!), a strategy for our Housing Zones work that we’ll reveal as Lovell’s guests at CIH Brighton, and a joint event with 100 Years of Women in Transport on the Truth about Networking.

Back at FoL Towers, we're delighted to welcome two new team members, policy researcher Inge Hartkoorn and team admin Baljit Chauhan, who will be a key contact for the Leaders programmes. You'll be hearing from both of them in time.

In closing, a warm welcome to new member LB Bexley, who we’ll be visiting in early March. If you’re a recent member or just want to find out more about how Future of London can support you and your teams, we’re always happy to come for a chat; just drop us a line.

Thanks all, and see you out there –

Programme Highlights

Estate Renewal: Thamesmead visit

Estate Renewal: Thamesmead
Following on from our November conference, Delivering Estate Renewal, in 2015 we are working with partners to offer site visits to examples of large scale estate renewal in London. Our first visit will be to Thamesmead on 5th March (AM), where we'll hear from FoL member Peabody about plans for the iconic site. To sign up, email us at events@futureoflondon.org.uk

100 Years of Women in Transport

100 YOWIT
On 14th April, Future of London will delve into The Truth About Networking at a joint event with 100 Years of Women in Transport. Designed to tackle some of the ‘fear and loathing’ around networking and led by inspiring women from the infrastructure world, this after-work event is aimed at women in their early to mid-level careers, though men and other age groups are most welcome. Register here.

2015 Prospectus
Following the teaser in last month's newsletter, FoL's full 2015 prospectus is now available on our website. As well as looking at the highlights of 2014, it outlines our programme and priorities for the year ahead, includes information on our Future London Leaders and Leaders Plus career-development programmes, and details on how to join. Download it now.

Communities in Transition – Anchor regeneration

Communities in Transition
This spring, our popular Communities in Transition field trips return, under the 2015 theme of 'anchor regeneration'. The series will explore the benefits and challenges of regeneration schemes based around anchor institutions, like stadiums, markets, hospitals and retail centres. Stay tuned for the first trip in April, and if you're interested in attending or contributing, get in touch!
