Oh my God!
I ask Thee for myself
and for those whom I hold dear,

the grace to fulfill perfectly
Thy Holy Will,
to accept for love of Thee

the joys and sorrows
of this passing life,
so that we may one day
be
united together

in Heaven for all Eternity.
Amen.

– Taken from a Morning Prayer written by St. Therese

Good Morning,

Welcome to the first electronic St. John Spiritual Reading program.  You will be receiving an email similar to this every day starting tomorrow (Ash Wednesday) through the Octave of Easter ending on Divine Mercy Sunday.  Our email is designed to simulate a quiet prayer space and models a routine of prayer for spiritual reading.  Each day will begin with a prayer and sacred image followed by the text of the passage, an image of sacred art, and several questions or points for reflection.  It ends with a quote from St. Therese and a closing prayer.  You might find that it will take about 10 to 15 minutes of quiet and undisturbed time to get through the spiritual reading.

The Contents of I Believe in Love:

May this time of Lenten spiritual reading be a source of great spiritual fruitfulness for you.

Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us.
St. John the Beloved, pray for us.
   St. Therese, pray for us.

God Bless you!

For me, prayer is a surge of the heart;
it is a simple look turned toward heaven,
it is a cry of recognition and of love,
embracing both trial and joy.
