Lesson 579: 3 Elements of Devotion, Pt.2
We cannot please God unless we trust Him, and invest time walking with Him and deepening our relationship with Him.
William Law put it this way: devotion means we give our life to God. We speak of giving our heart to God at the moment of salvation. But God wants our thoughts, our dreams – all of our being, every moment for the rest of our life.
We belong to Him now. We should desire to do God’s will more than our own will, and to serve Him in all we do.
1 Cor.10:31 whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
Col.3:17, 23-24 whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men… You are serving the Lord Christ.
About This Series
The goal of this series is to become more useful in serving the Lord Jesus Christ, as an instrument in the Redeemer's hand. The theme verses for the series are Ephesians 4:22-24, Philemon 11, 2 Timothy 2:21
- to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
- and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
- Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.
- Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
