Stop Hunger Now

Looking for something fun to do with your kids during the cold weather days of winter? Bring them to our third annual game night that will be held prior to the scheduled movie night on Saturday, March 7th!  

Each year we hold a games event to raise money for Stop Hunger Now, a charity that is focused on gathering the community for a hands-on meal packaging event. Vienna Baptist will participate in this worthy event in April, however we need to provide the funds to purchase supplies.  

Here is where the fun comes in – at 5 pm, we will open doors to a whole host of fun activities that will allow the kids to earn small prizes and let off some energy. Between 5:30 and 6 pm, we will offer pizza and drinks for sale prior to the movie. At 6, we will begin our regularly scheduled movie night, please contact us for movie details!  

Donations are greatly appreciated, and we will provide more details on how you can help at the Stop Hunger Now packing event in future communications.

Quarterly Business Meeting March 8

Our next regular quarterly business meeting will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2015 immediately following service.
Changes to the organizational manual will be discussed at this meeting. A summary of these changes is attached here.

Lenten Study 

Alison Dunn Almaguer to Lead Special Lenten Discipleship Series

On Wednesday evenings in Lent, February 25 to April 1, Alison will lead us in a discussion of the book “Mudhouse Sabbath: An Invitation to a Life of Spiritual Discipline” by Lauren Winner. Copies of the book will be available through the church office for $10. The book is also available on the Kindle for $8.49, and used copies can be found online. Please join us in the Adult Lounge from 7 to 8 p.m. for this special study.

Magazine Ministry

Volunteers Needed!

The Magazine Ministry needs your help. After March 15, we will resume collection of used magazines. Please make sure that the magazines have all labels removed. These magazines may be delivered to the coat closet for collection. 

In addition to collecting magazines, we need your assistance delivering them to the collection site on the last Tuesday of each month (to a home near Courthouse and Maple). If we have 8 volunteers, that means each person needs to do only one delivery! If you are available to help deliver on these Tuesdays, please contact Claire Davis as soon as possible so she can create a volunteer schedule.
