Texlon® ETFE is ideally suited for new buildings as well as major regeneration projects. Gare Saint-Roch in Montpellier is a perfect example of a regeneration project that capitalizes on the flexibility of Texlon® ETFE technology. AREP was commissioned to design a large expansion to the busy international train station. The new thoroughfare spanning 14,5m x 220m was to be clad with printed Texlon® ETFE to soften sunlight in summer while minimizing heat loss in winter.  

The new expansion includes several retail outlets and restaurants and has already positively transformed the travel experience for thousands of commuters since it opened in 2014.  

The reduction in artificial lighting requirements and the weight of the supporting structures, are two of the many environmental benefits ETFE offers when compared to alternative transparent cladding systems.
 

Texlon® is recognised as one of the most sustainable materials available in the construction market and is the only ETFE system in the world to be awarded an Environmental Product Declaration in accordance with  ISO 14025 and EN 15804.
