Research Update - March 2015
Asylos is a network of volunteers that researches information for asylum claims. The research is free of charge and is conducted on-demand to respond to specific requests from lawyers defending asylum seekers in court. You'll find below the research notes that have been produced recently as well as the ones we are currently working on. Please don't hesitate to forward this update to anyone who might be interested.
The Asylos team
How to submit a new research request?
Asylos volunteers take new requests primarily for lawyers in the UK, France, Belgium, Greece. If our capacities allow it, we try to help also with research requests from other countries.
Currently, our Asia, Afghanistan and MENA teams are particularly available.

If you wish to submit a new research request, please fill in the form here: http://request.asylos.eu.
Asylos research notes available upon request
This a selection of research notes we have completed since January 2014 and which you can receive upon request at info@asylos.eu indicating the case reference. Please note that each research note refers to a specific case and request from a lawyer, and is not intended to be an exhaustive, stand-alone document. Terms and conditions of use
Our research work is carried out for lawyers representing asylum seekers and at their request. It is offered free of charge by a European network of volunteers who donate two hours a week or more of their time to help refugees escaping or facing persecution in their home country. We believe that our research can help them claim their right to asylum and in doing so, build a more just asylum system. Your feedback on the outcome of a case after it has been heard in court is vital to us. It helps us improve our work and rewards us for the time we spend helping you with yours.

Please keep us posted on the results here: http://feedback.asylos.eu or just send us an email at info@asylos.eu

Asylos is a network of volunteers providing research assistance to lawyers who represent asylum seekers. Founded in 2010, it was created to respond to a dysfunctional asylum system in Europe that fails to live up to its own legal and ethical standards. Asylos provides case-related information to lawyers in countries where legal aid is non-existent or does not cover the cost of researching up-to-date evidence documenting rights violations or persecution in specific cases – a problem now exacerbated by the widespread crisis in EU state finances. The research concerns conditions in the claimant’s country of origin or other facts pertinent to an individual case.

Asylos is registered as an Association Loi 1901 in France (registration number W751212188) and incorporated as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) in the United Kingdom (registration number 1158386). We are grateful for the support of the Sigrid Rausing Trust and the Open Society Foundations.
