Reflecting with Mayor Reynolds
Volunteerism can be a staple in a community and we are blessed to have so many in ours. Volunteer Week in the City of Eagle will be April 12-18 with a special Open House for our volunteers on April 17. If you help on a committee, volunteer at the library or museum, or have put your time into building trails, please join us from 5-6:30pm at City Hall so we can show you our appreciation for your service. Volunteer of the Month
ASHLEY NEUBRAND
The City of Eagle recognizes the importance of volunteerism and is taking a moment to thank those who selflessly give of themselves to the community. A plaque will be displayed in the lobby recognizing these outstanding volunteers.
Ashley Neubrand has volunteered at the Eagle Historical Museum since October 2010. She came to us from the Basque Museum with knowledge already under her belt and has been a great asset ever since. Ashley’s favorite part of the helping at the museum is taking photos of the artifacts, which helps us keep a correct database. She is friendly, good at the task at hand, and is always available at a moment’s notice to help. Ashley has been an Eagle resident since 1996. She graduated Eagle High School in 2003 and received two Bachelor’s degrees from Boise State in History and Archeology in 2010. Some of Ashley’s favorite hobbies are photography, tennis, and archery. Eagle Historical Museum is thankful for her hard work and dedication to helping preserve our city’s history

Eagle Community Fund Applications Now Available to Charities
Applications are available to participate in the distribution of charitable funds from the Eagle Community Fund in the Idaho Community Foundation. Distributions from the fund must benefit charitable organizations, projects and/or activities in Eagle. Beneficiaries must hold tax- exempt status under IRS Code 501(c)3 or be a publicly supported school or government agency.
Developed in 1994 by the City of Eagle, contributions to the Fund at the ICF have created a permanent endowment that has grown to a size that now allows distribution from interest earned to support charitable needs in the community on an annual basis.
Applications to share in the 2015 distribution from the Eagle Community Fund are available at www.cityofeagle.org or at Eagle City Hall to any non-profit organization providing services within the City of Eagle. The submittal deadline for grant applications is April 20, 2015. Recipients of grants from the Fund will be announced in early May.

The Eagle Field of Honor flags will stand proudly from May 16-26, 2015
at Merrill Park, 637 E Shore Dr, Eagle Id. They will start flying on Armed Forces Day and continue through the Memorial Day holiday. The opening ceremony is on Saturday, May 16 at four o’clock in the afternoon. It is an opportunity to publicly voice our gratitude to the military that has so bravely protected our freedoms. We are able to recognize the individuals that each flag represents. With the help of sponsors, we are able to present this family friendly event to the public for free. There are no admission costs. There will be a free BBQ for veterans and currently serving military personel immediately following the opening ceremony. A $5 donation is requested for non-military

Many new programs are also beginning in April, including preschool Spanish classes, preschool dance class, family art projects, adult Pilates, adult DIY classes, and a new Frozen-themed preschool party. Check them out at the Eagle Parks & Recreation website.
Have you started thinking about your summer plans? Eagle Parks & Recreation is offering a wide variety of summer camps and programs for the whole family… sign up early to secure your spot!
Other summer programs to look forward to include a family campout in Guerber Park and Eagle Fun Days, which will include a 5K/10K race and a family cornhhole (beanbag toss) tournament.

The Gallery at St. Luke's - G. Leslie Manlove
There is nothing more remarkable to me than the beauty that is found everywhere on this Earth, in nature, and the creatures that inhabit it. This is why I am passionate about capturing Mother Nature’s true character and incredible diversity. Burning desert sands and mossy riverbanks… Brilliant sunbeams and fading alpenglow… Silent snowfall and raging summer storms… Each offers an opportunity to create an image that sustains our connection. It is a joy to journey off the beaten path, an escape, if you will. These opportunities are powerful, thus one must have the craft and passion to capture these images to share with others. The reward is the artists’ expression through photography, an image that captures the essence of the Earth and all her beauty.

The Gallery at Eagle City Hall - Scotty Perkins
Scotty took up photography in 2013 mostly as a good excuse to expand and appreciate his love of being in the wilderness. Scotty grew up around nature photography, with his father Richard himself being a passionate nature photographer and participating actively with the North American Nature Photographers Association. In the last two years Scotty has traveled to some of the most beloved national parks and wilderness areas, hiking, camping, and photographing. In many cases he has had the good fortune to spend time in the field and with some of the most gifted nature photographers int he world, hoping to learn more and more about how to capture and share the beauty of the natural world online and in print.

The Eagle Historical Society and the Eagle Historical Museum presents the “Community Cabinet.”
Do you have a collection that you would like to display?
The Community Cabinet is a City maintained display in the lobby at Eagle City Hall that allows you to become a museum curator for a month!
Every month, members of the community have a chance to share with the public their personal collections of memorabilia or personal artifacts.
Helen Fisher’s Snoopy collection is on display for the month of March.
