WHAT'S HAPPENING AT EXCEED...

Casa del Valle Residential Facility Happenings...

Casa residents had their manicures and pedicures, participated in the Honey Bear Bowling League Tournament, and attended the TLC Dance. Some also went to the Lake Elsinore outlet center for shopping. On the last Saturday of the month, they used the free passes that they received at the Honey Bear league Christmas party for a morning of bowling, then enjoyed Denny's for lunch.

We still have openings for one female and one male.

Santa Fe (Hemet) ADC Happenings...

Our ADC clients celebrated their Peace & Friendship theme for the month of February. Everyone enjoyed exchanging Valentines and having cupcakes for Valentine’s Day. The clients and staff enjoyed their usual outing to a local golf course and training on Nutrition and Label Reading.

Santa Fe (Hemet) WAC Happenings...

February has been a great month. Our WAC clients have had a steady flow of work doing the usual sanding, sorting, packaging, assembling, stuffing and labeling mailers. The clients enjoyed a Valentine’s get together with cupcakes, juice and music. They also started collecting pull tabs from cans for the Loma Linda Ronald McDonald House. Everyone is excited to help raise money for a good cause.

Perris ADC Happenings...

This month concluded the ADC's theme "Be The Reason Someone Smiles".  The clients made various projects and delivered them to places like Inland Regional Center and EXCEED's Administration Department.  Everyone has had so much fun with this theme.  The Perris ADC also held 2 fundraisers this month.  We sold our annual Valentine's grams as well as raffling off a Valentin'es lunch for 2.  We are ending our great theme with a "Fun" week that the Client Council voted on.  Each day this week has a different theme such as Wacky Hat/Hair Day, Support Your Team Day, Pajama Day, etc.  This really has been a great month.

For our next theme the clients have decided on "Paint Your Own Rainbow".  With the spring coming this should be a very fun theme.  The clients will participate in a scavenger hunt related to the theme while on EPAC trips into the community.  They will also focus on a color each week with classroom discussions and art projects related to that color.  We also plan on calling Home Depot to see if they will come out for a visit again and bring some of their projects.  This looks to be a fun theme for all.

Perris WAC Happenings...

It has been a busy month here at EXCEED's WAC program in Perris.  The clients voted in new Client Council Officers:  President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and Sergeant at Arms. The previous officers will be recognized for the wonderful contributions they gave over the past year. They will receive certificates and gifts cards as a thank you for their work.

Client Council has a recycling program in which bottles and cans are turned in for money. They use that money for helping out community organizations. This month they chose to donate money for the Wounded Warrior Project.

Pre Employment Skills Training  (PEST) continue twice per month for 25 individuals who are ready or nearly ready for Supported Employment. The classes are held at our Perris facility.

We have had an increase in the number of OS-1 placements in which individuals are given the opportunity to fill in for those missing at our community enclaves. For  those clients who have never worked in the community, this is a great opportunity for them to be gradually introduced to the experience. They get the chance to work at different work sites, try different jobs and meet different job coaches.  We have had an increase of individuals who have been able to attend OS-1 opportunities at Lowes DC, Walgreens DC and Whirlpool this past month.

We would like to thank the IRC CSC's for sending referrals to all our programs. We are grateful for their confidence in the services we provide for individuals we serve.

Supported Employment Happenings...
