In Focus:

How your prayers and action can help change lives!

Dear Friend for Life

Today is day 14 of our latest 40 Days for Life campaign.

While I'd love to tell you that a baby has been saved from abortion at one of our vigil sites in Auckland or Wellington, I can't - but there has been more than 87 babies saved at vigil sites throughout the world!

I can also tell you about the father whom I approached last week with an offer of help, who looked at me with great sorrow in his eyes as he explained that it was "too late".  Had he known this help was available prior, he would have fought for his baby's life.

I can also tell you that just by being there, some women will not show up for their appointments. Abby Johnson told us when she visited last year, that at the last Planned Parenthood conference she went to before she left, it was announced that over 70% of women do not show up for their appointments when people are praying outside.  Okay, so that is America I hear you say.  But even if that figure was just one woman a week here in New Zealand, we have something to celebrate!

The majority of the time we will not know the fruit of our prayer or work to promote and save lives.

Last Friday, a woman approached the prayer team outside AMAC.  At last year's 40 Days for Life vigil, she was one of the most vocal abusers.  But here's the thing... our presence affected her so much that she realised she needed healing!  Her vocal abuse was a manifestation of the deep hurt she was experiencing after being forced to abort three of her children.  A Christian, this mother went to God in prayer.  Today she is praying for the 40 Days for Life effort, with plans to join us if she is able.

From vocal abuser, to healing, to praying in solidarity with us.  God is so good!

Never underestimate the impact your prayers, your sacrifices, your humility and your work in defense of life has on those around you!  You can change lives just by being a silent, prayerful witness on the street to the great injustice of abortion.

Thank you to each one of you who has so far participated, or who are praying with us from home in solidarity.  If you are able, could you spare an hour this week to pray for the mothers, fathers, babies and workers?

Vigil hours are Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm; Saturday and Sunday Noon to 4:00pm until Sunday 29th March.  Please sign up as it helps us plan and gaps can be filled by those who are more flexible with their time.
