1. Be “Plant Strong†- Optimize your health by including more servings of fruits and vegetables in every meal. After all, plants are Mother Nature’s multivitamin.
2. Stay Hydrated - Drinking water is the easiest way to provide your body with nutrients. Keeping hydrated is essential for your body to transport nutrients, digest food and keep you energized!
3. Include Healthy Fats in Every Meal - Adding a few slices of avocado or a tablespoon of coconut oil to your meal will keep you feeling full and satisfied, and will also support a healthy metabolism.
4. Create Balance and Variety - Be sure to include all the colours of the rainbow in your diet, different coloured fruits and vegetables have different and unique nutrients! For example, Beta-Carotene - which makes carrots ‘orange’ - supports the immune system, vision, skin health and bone health.
5. Think Beyond Food - The “Holistic†approach to health includes nourishing the body, mind and spirit. So be active daily, practice stress-relieving techniques, and be conscious of your energy, focus on the positive!
