March's Metro cat
Thank you to Metro Pet Market for helping Regina Cat Rescue by Spaying It Forward! This month, Metro paid for Obsidian's spay surgery as part of their on-going mission to foster responsible pet ownership. Obsidian was rescued by an RCR foster family who noticed her huddled and crying outside their home. They bundled her up, took her inside and asked RCR for help. The family truly saved this little cat’s life as she was suffering from a serious uterine infection and needed emergency surgery. Update on Fluffy, Button & Nyssa
If you’ve been following our blog or social media, you’ll be familiar with Fluffy, Button & Nyssa. We asked the public for funds to help cover their special veterinary needs and were overwhelmed with the generous response. A total of $1,860 was donated – exceeding our target of $1,500 (funds raised above the $1,500 will be used for veterinary expenses of other RCR cats in need). Button has had her surgery, is doing very well and even has an adopter waiting for her. Nyssa’s treatment is ongoing but she’s showing remarkable improvement and has had multiple adoption inquiries. Fluffy’s surgery is complete and now that he is no longer in pain he is coming out of his shell - all he wants now is a forever home! From Fluffy, Button and Nyssa (and everyone at RCR) thanks for donating!

Membership, nomination and bylaw amendment deadline - March 5
In order to participate in the Regina Cat Rescue Annual General Meeting (April 18) you must purchase your RCR membership ($25 annual or $500 lifetime) by March 5. If your contact information hasn’t changed, you don’t need to submit the membership form with your payment, simply pay online via PayPal (enter Membership Renewal in the How May We Direct Your Donation? field) or mail us a cheque (indicate Membership in the note line). New members will need to submit the RCR membership application with payment. Members will have voting privileges at the 2015 Annual General Meeting in April and also be entered to win a new Cuisinart 11 piece cookware set to be drawn at the AGM. Annual memberships expire December 31 of each year, and memberships purchased after October of each year apply to the following year. Bocados Fundraiser - March 25
Join us for our semi-annual Bocados fundraiser on Wednesday, March 25! For $25, you get salad, an entrée (vegan option available) and a drink. We’ll have two start times: 5-7 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. There will be a 50/50 draw and silent auction (debit available onsite). Email us to buy tickets, or to arrange to sell some.
