So, Exploding Kittens... that happened. $8.7 MILLION dollars raised! 219,000 backers! Excited to see the final product in July! What a fantastic and fun kickstarter!

In other news, Sex Criminals is going to be adapted for TV! I won't lie- I haven't read it. But I have enjoyed comic related TV a lot in the last... decade... Hate being old enough to think like that. Would love to hear what you guys think!

East Coast StartUp Week is coming to Saint John! In just two weeks a number of workshops will be hosted in relation to start ups, building business and networking, and we are getting involved! Greg and Tara will be leading a discussion on Crowdfunding and our experiences with it. Sort of made me a bit emotional writing this. Our own campaign doesn't compare to things like Exploding Kittens, but man what a ride! It was a real eye opener to exactly how much everyone supported us and I can't say thank you enough.

Magic News and Events

There are a number of announcements to be made that are sure to be of interest to Magic: The Gathering players!

First and most importantly is the Preliminary Pro Tour Qualifier that will be held at Heroes' Beacon on April 12th. The format will be Sealed (6 packs of Dragons of Tarkir) and registration will cost $35. Registration will be at 9am with games beginning at 10am. Prizes will be based on attendance and the venue location is TBD.

Dragons of Tarkir Pre-Release Weekend

The Dragons of Tarkir set will have it's pre-release next month! Our regularl pre-release events will take place March 21-22nd with Midnight, AM, and PM events on Saturday and another on Sunday at noon. This pre-release also features the Dragonfury event which has players rolling their 'breath weapon' between matches to knock over points and score special promotional cards! The full set will release March 27 with a release day event!

Also announced is this year's From the Vault set - From the Vault: Angels. Similar to From the Vault: Dragons, this set will feature notable Angels and Angel related cards from Magic's history with special treatment. 15 cards will be included in this limited set and five will receive all new artwork.

The Magic 2016 Core Set has been renamed Magic: Origins and will feature the back stories of some of Magic's notable planeswalkers. Shown in the teaser were Liliana, Nissa, Giddeon, Chandra and Jace with artwork showing some of these characters prior to their lives as planeswalkers. The new core set releases in July.

Finally, there will be a new Magic: The Gathering board game hitting the shelves this Summer! Wizards has announced a Magic the Gathering board game called "Arena of the Planeswalkers". Not much else has been shared, but it could be interesting!
