Message From The Director
The value of reading to your children
Dear friends,
What are you reading? I was asked this question recently during a party and responded, “Last night, I read The Big Red Barn and the night before, it was Corduroy.” Other than newspapers and the occasional magazine article, I only read board books. The Science of CMEE Mini Golf
A first grader from Speonk Elementary School, Zach, recently used CMEE Mini Golf as the basis for his science fair project. Using our Loop-de-loop hole as a model, he attempted to prove the hypothesis, "The greater the speed of the ball the higher the likelihood that the ball will make it around the loop." After testing his theory using a Hot Wheels track and loop, he concluded that his initial thoughts were correct, which is another way of saying "that minimum velocity equals the square root of gravity times the loop’s radius."
Great work, Zach!
