SPRING FORWARD INTO SUCCESS!

Hello my lovelies -

I first want to thank everyone that was so kind in participating in my winter request to take the survey about my current offerings & potential changes.  I truly appreciate your willingness to offer me your opinions & ideas!

I took a leap, had an adventure and attended a business retreat in the first days of February, and wanted to go to it prepared with my client and supporter's input, knowing full well I'd leave those few days in NC chock full of inspiration - check out "What I've Been Up To" section below to hear about my trip!

Spring is a time of new growth and beginnings - so you'll see the early implementation of both your and my event ideas in this edition of the newsletter!

First of all, my new 10 second tag line (see my blog post How to Answer the "So, What Do You Do?" Question)  about my business is:
"Resume Confidence works with conscious, caring professionals to discover - and attract - their ideal work".

When there's the opportunity to continue (which I wrote about for NEXT week's blog "30 Second Commercial - aka The Elevator Speech), I now say,

"We serve soul centered job seekers, entrepreneurs, and currently employed professionals that are committed to:
  • doing work they love AND
  • doing all work they do with love and the spirit of service.
I help professionals that take action to develop content that clearly communicates their unique skills and traits".

What do you think?  Input & ideas are ALWAYS welcome (no need to wait for a survey to share!)

I'm also launching a new project!  One that will contribute to both my, and my clients/supporters shared success of course!  See below for the FIRST announcement of the Conscious Career Questers VIP Lounge!

It's important to me to let job seekers, and anyone in my life, know they are not alone, that help and guidance, and a little cheerleading, too, IS available.  I know I need it - and over 10 years now of working with job seekers shows me repeatedly that support is vital to success!

Think about why groups like Weight Watchers and AA are largely so well known - the group support increases individual success.  We all need a little help from our friends, after all!

With two dogs at my feet, I sign off, and wish you a good adventure of your own, and your own cheering section to help YOU jump in, get some support & spring into success this season!

PS  Yes, I'm still dog & house sitting, quite a bit, actually, and still LOVING it!  If you, or anyone you know would like some input on getting started sitting locally, or, around the country or even the world, reach out to me!

I put together a new Facebook page,Pet & House Sitter Profiles and, a package to help sitter's write sitter site profiles that get gigs!  Check them out, and, .... share this newsletter to spread the word about this, and all the offers and info here - thanks!  (Woof! from my dogs du jour!)

Banjo & Kimber are both happy repeat clients, and love hanging out with me when I do yard work (I think the only time I DO yard work is when I have dogs to motivate me and keep me company! Ha!)

****~~SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT ~~****

HEAR YE, HEAR YE!

I hereby share here FIRST, in the Resume Confidence newsletter for my special clients, old & new, and friends/supports, the launch of my NEWEST OFFER, the "Conscious Career Questers VIP Lounge" (I am open to suggestions for the name, I'm still debating it but that's what it is for now!  Send me ideas if you have them!)

This is a PRIVATE Facebook group for ongoing job search support from other job seekers (and anyone else that might want to join!) that provides feedback on your daily questions on your quest to find a new career position!

Important things to know about the new Facebook group:

1)  PRIVATE group means it is a "Secret" group - no one can see you are a member, and only members can see your posts & comments  -- this means the fact that you are job searching will be SAFE from co-workers & others that you are friends with on Facebook that you might not want to know about your intentions
2) You have to have a personal Facebook page to belong
3) Newsletter recipients who contact me to sign up by Wed, 3/11, you - and/or a FRIEND/REFERRAL of yours can join for FREE! I want to get this started, so you gotta get in early -- email me for all the (simple) how-to's and details!

Join together with other job seekers like you that UNDERSTAND the challenges to:
  • share resources, like your favorite job search sites, and which to stay away from (and why)
  • how you use LinkedIn, Facebook, and various social media in a job search, what works for you/hasn't worked (and ask for help!),
  • in person networking ideas to make contacts and find job leads (often hidden),
  • get feedback on your 30 second commercial/elevator speech,
  • ideas on how to handle tough interview scenarios,
  • what to put in your follow up letters,
  • support and a listening ear for those days you JUST don't want to look for work anymore, JUST don't understand why you haven't heard back yet ...
  • and SO.MUCH.MORE!

These are all things that can/will happen with the privacy of this group!  It'll be YOUR group, so whatever members what to post and ask about will be what we talk about! (I'll be checking in, too of course!)

What I've Been Up To ....

In early February I attended my first live event with my long time business mentor, Christine Kane, up in Asheville, NC. If you've been on this list & following any of my online offerings for awhile, you may have seen mention & shares of her awesome blog along the way.

The event was called "Click!", focused on blending "the alchemy of soul and business", how bringing your heart, passion, and grounded true self to your business (and I'd say, your career of any kind, too, job seekers!) and using them TOGETHER makes everything just "click" into place and leads to success.

I had a wonderful time meeting like minded, spirited, creative entrepreneurs who are now both friends and an informal "board of directors"/support system of my own!

SUPPORT = SUCCESS!

Hip & interesting venue, and inspiring activities like the 'success panel' and literally burning up our fears!  We are doing a practice sales activity in the close up -- I think I look a bit crazed, ha!  (but others kindly complimented me on the pic, and my amazing yoga goddess shawl I got just for the event, loved wrapping up in chilly NC in it!)

Many of you already know how I love to travel & explore, so of course I turned the drive up from FL to NC (no flying for me in the winter - blek! I always get sick if do!) into a mini-adventure, traveling secondary roads where I could stop & stretch & check out some beautiful scenes along the way such as Strom Thurmond State Park Dam on the GA/SC border, and a random country lane at sunset ...

It also SNOWED our 3rd morning in Asheville, so, very much in need of a break, and not having seen snow in YEARS, I skipped out on a session & went for a walk enjoying the wintery blanket.  When I got back (wet!), I needed to go change, and all this FL girl had to wipe off her car was ... a beach towel from the trunk!  Ha!  People on the street enjoyed this, and one offered to take that pic!

Monthly Job Search Tip:   Support = Success!

“ A little praise . . . Goes a great ways  . . .” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Job searching can be hard, and it can have a negative impact on your self esteem from time to time.  If you find this happening to you, it’s okay.  Don’t worry too much about it, but don’t stay there, either.

Client Corner:
Robin got a new job within a month of completing her new resume and LinkedIn profile!  She wrote, "Every day is a different project and I'm loving that variety! ... I so appreciated your help!"  Congrats, Robin!

Daphne didn't get the job she applied for, BUT, she heard from the Director that while they hired someone with more direct experience for that job, they were VERY impressed with her, and they do want to find a position for her in their organization that would fit her skills and passions!  Isn't that amazingly awesome?  Stay tuned, what that new position will be is TBA ...
