Basis Training & Education design and deliver specialist training and research on current social issues. Basis are part of a network of charitable projects with a key focus on child sexual exploitation and adult sex work. As a Community Interest Company we reinvest all our income into our frontline work (Genesis).

Basis recently hosted a workshop on the impact of Porn on Young People at the 2015 Blast Conference. As access to sexualised images is ever increasing for young people, we know from our frontline work  at Genesis, that this can have a negative impact on young people’s self-esteem, expectations of relationships and how it can be used to normalise extreme sexual behaviour as part of the grooming process as explained here by our trainer Taylor. To support professionals that work with and those that care for young people, Basis are developing a DVD and resource pack "Porn – Is it Normal" which we will be launching in the next few months – keep an eye out for more news on our website and newsletter!
Meet our new Trainer!
Carolyn Henman has been involved with the Genesis adult sexworkers project for almost a year now and therefore will be focusing most of her training on that part of our portfolio. Given her extensive and varied experience in working with vulnerable people and substantial training experience we are delighted that she has joined the team!
Next CSE Training Dates -  March 10 (Level 2) and April 27 (Level 3)
Our next CSE Level 2 training is on March 10 but if you do still wish to attend, please register on our website or email Basis Training asap. Our Level 3 Course also just has a few more places left. CSE Awareness Day March 18 2015
Basis will be supporting CSE Awareness Day  this year by raising awareness with the #HelpingHands initiative on Twitter and hosting a stall in Leeds earlier in the week (March 16th) jointly with the Blast Project and other agencies. Come and see us or let us know if you want to help out. On the day itself we will be live tweeting from the NWG National CSE conference. Follow us on @Basistraining!
